As much as I wanted to vote for MUSHA, I beat it last year too and would rather try something new or finish a game I haven't yet, so I went with Spriggan and Gun-Nac. Gave Guardian Legend a +1 because it sounds interesting.

Really wanted to vote for Aleste Gaiden too haha because it looks like Ninja Gaiden meets Aleste, but first off it doesn't even seem to have a score counter, and second it looks pretty bad. I'll still play it on my own time I'm sure.

Oh, and does Guardian Legend really count if Cannon Spike didn't? Most of the time spent in that game isn't in the shmup areas

Ok, let me ask this then. How is Zanac Neo? Scoring variation, difficulty, ship selection? Likely to be cleared on the first playthrough?

As much as I'd like to vote for Zanac X Zanac, it is a $200 game so even though I own it, it seems a bit ridiculous to recommend. Same with Power Strike II for SMS, it is too expensive and hard to obtain to recommend for the month.
