Right, I meant the FF games that had mini-games. The fun factor of VII and VIII's mini-games is unparalleled. I know I'm not the only one that's sunk a fair amount of hours into chocobo breeding/racing and Triple Triad card games.o.pwuaioc wrote:I'm hard-pressed to think of any mini-games in FFIV, my favorite FF.brunoafh wrote:I always thought Final Fantasy did mini-games exceptionally well. Triple Triad game should be a full fledge retail releasebrunoafh wrote:Right, I meant the FF games that had mini-games. The fun factor of VII and VIII's mini-games is unparalleled. It is the reason I havent beat FFVIII yet.
Always save before you gamble with your big cards!
If you can see the future while remembering the past, you may just have control of the present.

Everything else was awesome though and yeah... generally I'm not bothered by mini-games in RPG's.

Good. I don't really want to spoil anything for you, and I didn't think that this would.noiseredux wrote:no idea what you're saying guy.dsheinem wrote:CT progress: I'm now in the high 40s low 50s for levels, so I finally took a run at the Black Omen and lost on Zeal's 2nd form. I think I know what to do next time, but I am a bit worn out from that fight for today so I'll try again tomorrow. From what I understand after you go through Zeal 2 you go to Lavos automatically - sounds like a more worthy way of beating the game, if I can pull it off.
So I have come up against the true final form of the final boss a few times and can go quite a ways (taking out one orb, damaging the other parts), but then somewhere along the line the asshole hits me with this "most powerful magic attack" that insta-kills the party. Any suggestions?
Re: Snickerd00dle's Summer Game Challenge 2011
Delta Attack or something like that? I dunno, did you get the Rainbow sword and such? I don't think power leveling was ever really necessary in CT but yeah, he can be a little tough. Just unload every buffs and items you might have that could be useful. Also I could be utterly crazy as it's been years, but I think one of the orbs is what you really have to take out, I could be wrong. Though I certainly remember all one of them does is constantly heal, while after it gets destroyed it can be revived off and on again.
If you have someone that can heal everyone in the party, you might want to just have them constantly doing that no matter what and keeping their MP up at all times.
Also, is that not the coolest final boss theme or what? And the backgrounds during it, it's so insane... out of this world. An epic final fight for sure.

Try to figure out which orb heals and revives and focus your attacks on it. After that, wipe the floor with the other two. IIRC, the falcon strike tech is great for this battle.dsheinem wrote:Good. You're not crazy, that's correct.Xeogred wrote:Also I could be utterly crazy as it's been years, but I think one of the orbs is what you really have to take out...
Its the one battle in the game that deviates from the boss formula that the guy in the center is the one that needs to die.
The majority of attacks should be focused on one of the orbs. I don't remember which one it is though, heh, so experiment.

Popped in Wario Land on the ol' Virtual Boy today. Booted up my old save file to see where I was and about 30 minutes later...... done. Apparently I was almost finished when I gave up before. I would like to play through the entire game again, this time getting all the hidden treasures, but one of the lenses on my VB was not working well. I'll have to call this one done unless I grab a new visor before the end of summer.
Also got the the last episode on Panzer Dragoon. Should be able to get there with an extra credit or two next playthrough and get that one wrapped up. Episode 4 is definitely my favorite and 2 is my least. All the rest of them are pretty solid though. Tons of variety for a game like this.

I'm not a huge fan of FPS's, but Duke Nukem Total Meltdown is just what the doctor ordered. It's got the Doom-thing going on, which I like, only way better. I haven't even beaten the first level yet, but I think the design is brilliant. Great game it seems.
So is Total Meltdown JUST a port of 3D, or is it 3D plus added shit?
