I'd like to live in a world where everyone is free not only to believe in whatever they choose but also to not be harassed about it. The only way to foster mutual respect is to lead by example. In this instance, however, I was sorely tempted to fall short of my own ideals.

I had some Morman types come up to my house the other week and they we're telling me how God caused natural disasters because of sinners etc. What a load of shit.
I wish we still had a dog as last time they came up, he chased them out of the yard

Sadly, yes. I'm pissed off I couldn't think of anything witty to say.

All over. They go on missionary work all the time, more, I'd hazard, than any other single denomination.

I just tell 'em I'm Catholic; that usually ends the conversation.

My college friend kept a communist Chinese flag hanging right where you'd see it when he opened the door. He'd invite them in to talk and would either start talking about weird stuff and act creepy or else he would start telling them about being vegetarian and chastise them for any leather they were wearing.

He was actually vegetarian, but he was cool about it and didn't bug others for carniverous habits. He researched a lot of stuff to police his own habits so he could make the Mormons squirm until they left on their own.

As a longtime resident of a rural GET OFF MAH LAWN type area, I simply don't answer my door unless I'm 100% sure I know who it is.

TICKED: Sick today, again. I've gotten so many colds since I started working at an elementary school this year. This is probably the worst one. :?

DOUBLE TICKED: All the idiots at work who will attribute my absence to a post-Super Bowl hangover or some shit. Ugh, whatever. Back to bed.
