08 was, I believe the last PC port (they may have finally changed that with 25 though). Because of this, 08 has a bit of a cult-following and is still played pretty heavily on PC today apparently and has a lot of modding and updated rosters and all that going on.

But to answer your question - I don't know. The last time I played a football game for any extended period of time, it was 16-bit. So I'm the wrong guy to ask. But I'd believe Dave. Have you seen his Madden collection?

At any rate... 08 on PC is really, really good as far as I can tell.

I remember 08 as being a pretty poor version... The last few maddens with the upgraded physics engine has been a nice improvement.

Interestingly enough, the first Madden game was exclusive to computers.
