There’s Yoshi’s New Island, which got mixed reviews but which I understand to be OK. There’s also Yosi’s Island DS, which got pretty good reviews, but which I know to be pretty bad.

I think your best bet is Yoshi’s Wooly World on the 3DS (or Wii U). That brought the series back to form (...I guess...other than SMW2, I think most of the other games in the series are just OK).

Just as a reminder, the Pokémon Direct is set to air in about 40 minutes or so.

Though is supposed to be 7 minutes long so don't expect the world from it, probably a short teaser for Gen 8 with the name revealed and a release date, hopefully.

I'll edit this post with the news, whatever those end up being, if nobody posts in the meantime.

EDIT: Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield announced Generation 8 is at hand!

It will take place in the Galar region, a central focal point of this region is an industrial Victorian London looking like city.

Three starters have been announced, a Water Lizard (Sobble), a Fire Bunny (Scorbunny) (those Zodiac theories might have been correct after all) and a Grass Chimp (Grookey).

Coming out on a tentative, late 2019 date. More Pokémon games planned in the year, but no details on which games and when, TBA I suppose.

Notes: Galar looks bigger than the average region, though is a drawing of a map it remains to be seen if is any bigger than average in-game.

Random battles and old catching mechanics are back, or they never left if you discount Let's Go.

Graphics are best in the series yet, better than Let's Go most definitely, looks like a proper Switch game would.

And here's a link to the Direct for those who want to see it themselves.

Sword & Shield... interesting titles. I'm excited though. And I'm hoping we won't HAVE to use motion controls. But I'm not holding my breath.

I wonder what the other Pokemon games will be. I'd wager remakes of other gens a la Let's Go. EDIT: Maybe we'll get a Detective Pikachu movie tie-in?

I was hoping we'd see a big sale on Let's Go for Pokemon day. I feel like I'd bite the bullet at under $40.

Well, fellas, I have had a busy month, and what time I do have to write posts on here has instead been spent playing Breath of the Wild, so you know what? I'm not sorry for not having written up stories of my adventures. The game is just that enthralling.

Anyway, my current status:

69 shrines completed
2 of 4 divine guardians unlocked
All memories found
Master Sword found
My house is complete
Tarry Town is only barely started
Found a total of 64 Korok seeds
3 giant fairies found, along with the creepy horse fairy

I'm working on knocking out a few sidequests before I begin heading towards Death Mountain. I started with the Rudo folks because cold weather gear seemed easier to come by, and once I had tough enough stuff, heading up to the Zora Kingdom was a breeze. I even managed to slay the Lynel on the mountain, though that fight was a tough one. Anti-heat gear isn't so easy to come by though, hence why I haven't done much with Death Mountain or the desert. Hey, they're the next major piece of the pie, and once that's done, I guess it's time to go take on Calamity Ganon.

The desert is probably my favorite part of Hyrule. Death Mountain is easily my least favorite. Good luck!

A thing to be aware is there are two sets of gear to protect you. One is anti heatstroke, and one is anti oh god the air is literally on fire. The former is for the desert, the latter is for the mountain.

The site doesn't allow hotlinking (can see what it is by right clicking, viewing image and refreshing page). With that said, what is Kill Time? (Edit: Ohhh okay, it's the Friday 13th game)

Double dipping for Tropical Freeze was so worth it. After going through this one a second time and having played the SNES trilogy a lot over the years, I think I've decided TF is my second favorite after DKC1. I don't like the music as much as the DKC2-DKC3 tunes and I miss the Kremlins... but TF is just amazing and a lot more consistent than those two to me. Think this is also the first time I played through the secret world 7. Rock solid difficulty with the insane K levels accessible from just collecting the KONG levels in every level, pretty doable and not as annoying as some other collectible hunts, great art style, amazing music, every single level impresses me and is refreshing. Funky Kong mode seems fun so I'll have to play that down the road, unlocked Hard Mode too. Glad this game got a second chance on the Switch. This is a MUST OWN!
