That is also a myth. The Saturn killed Noise's dad and framed the PS2 for killing Noise's mom, who is still alive.MrPopo wrote:That's actually a myth. It is all very confusing, and I understand your mistake.
As a fun aside, the Atari 2600 actually killed an acquaintance of mine. It was a little awkward the next time I picked up its paddle controllers. I didn't know the person very well, however, and we both got over it pretty quickly.

Re: RPG Progress Report
I have begun playing Mega Man X Command Mission at the insistence of one of my coworkers. I have just begun Chapter 2. It's ok so far. The combat system provides some interesting options for dealing with enemies, so I don't just repeatedly tap X to shoot.
After this comes 7th Saga and more SNES goodness, so I don't want to spend too long playing this. It's also more of a traditional RPG than Mega Man Legends.

I liked 7th Saga. So thereAck wrote:After this comes 7th Saga and more SNES goodness, so I don't want to spend too long playing this. It's also more of a traditional RPG than Mega Man Legends.

Bone is also quite fond of it. I've only begun trying all of the lesser-known RPGs for my SNES this year, but I've had a blast playing through the likes of Arcana and Ys III. So I'm hoping 7th Saga continues to positive experience. Because I don't want to have a bad time before jumping into something like Lagoon.ExedExes wrote:I liked 7th Saga. It's no epic, sprawling adventure with the best of storytelling, but as far as an RPG goes, it gets the job done.

Xenoblade: Played about 2 hours of this tonight... which, in Xenoblade time, got me from the beginning of the cave leading to Colony 6, to the end
One problem I am starting to notice is that there is no way to tell your allies to not use an AoE attack. I was fighting a unique monster at my level (which is already a decent challenge, as unique monsters are stronger than a normal enemy of that level), and was standing on a bridge over a bunch of regular like-leveled enemies. When Reyn used his AoE, which is always one of the first things he does, it drew all of the enemies up onto the bridge. I happen to be building my character towards back attacks, and having 9 enemeis and 2 allies on a small ass bridge makes this impossible, especially when some of them are Mechon (Which, for anyone reading this but not playing the game, are enemies that cannot be damaged by your allies without you buffing them first) Its a small complaint, but it has happened a few times so far. Other than that, I am still loving this game. I know I've already said it, but the world in this game is just huuuge. Its hard to believe this game is on one Wii disc.
TWEWY: Played through day 4 and 5 tonight. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite RPGs. Even though this is supposed to be a spoiler-friendly zone, I really don't want to ruin some of the crazy shit that happens, so I'll just say that they do a great job of ending each chapter in a way that leaves me dying to see what happens next. The variety of pins so far is pretty nice, and now I can keep track of the current fashion trends, which will have me wanting to try out a larger variety of pins/gear, as whichever brand is trending does more damage, and whichever is least trendy will be weakened.
After Neptunia, I feel like I am being spoiled with these games... especially TWEWY, which I had never even heard of until looking up some ds rpgs a couple days ago. Even after seeing some screens and reading reviews, I really didn't expect to like it this much. I was so balls-deep in that game that I forgot I was playing it on a handheld
Speaking of handhelds, I think I have done a complete 180. I haven't had a handheld hold my attention for a good 7 years, but I must have just been playing the wrong games, as I am now in love with my 3ds, and play it for hours every night.

Suck it up and finish it already.noiseredux wrote:shit, I just remembered I never finished Shining Wisdom.
I hit a motivational roadblock with Shining Force 3. The story isn't deep enough that I won't want to pick it back up this summer. I'm still chugging along with the newest Lunar remake while watching the Cavs and now the Indians on my PSP and am about to sell the Dragon Diamond.
I still stand by my statement that I like the random encounters of the original better than seeing the enemies in the remakes.
