What? What did I do?
I know you wrote me on the side, you know why. ;)

You have the collecting bug. Two systems in 2 days, dangerous. :) (Those not in on this he got a box of 5200 console and stuff too.)

My advice, go through the Sega stuff, keep a minimum and sell the rest, go with powerbase converters and everdrives. Atari, if you keep it, go with the 7800 as it plays 2600 too. I don't recall the 5200 standing out for much on its own being the best of the lot.

I wish I could say more than yes, but it was in my 1st lot of SMS stuff I owned a good decade ago and my memory of it is shot as I've dabbled with the GBC Montezuma since. I think I remember it like GBC being love hate, very hard, but compelling, yet also annoying.

It's pretty good, but there's just something "off" about it so I always turn to the Atari 8-bit version instead. The C64 version is nice too.

I have been playing a lot of the master system lately. Got a Genesis turbo controller for the only reason to beat Ivan drago in rocky. I had so much high hopes for this game but it's garbage. Still didn't beat drago this time. I did beat him for that crappy ending but whatever.
I ended up playing rtype also. Damn that looks and plays great on the master system.

Been playing black belt. Damn this is a little tough. I am expecting to get phantasy star. I know I'm not into rpg's but I'm going to sit down and try it.
I'm so happy I own the master system. The reason why is because when I was 13, I got one and my brothers friend kept giving me his games for 5.00 a piece. I ended up getting shinobi and outrun and space Harrier.
Thanksgiving was here and I kept using the nes adapter and playing shinobi. After dinner I put the system on and no go. Found out I blew the thing lol
Called swag and after spending 60.00 I shipped out the system and got a new ones two days before Christmas.

Playing the master system gives me a lot of memories around this time of year. Going to spend a lot of time on their system this holiday season

I've played Phantasy Star via emulation. I do not recommend it unless you really love jRPGs. The level of Grinding is kind of ridiculous. I kid you not. Leave the first town; fight the first enemy; die; restart the whole game; leave the first town again; fight the first enemy again; barely escape alive; return to the town to heal.

This goes on for more than an hour at the beginning of the game. Suffice to say, I never played very far into Phantasy Star. There might be a really good game after this, but I will never know. Who has the time to waste on such blatant grinding?

You mean the NES power adapter? Please don't ever use that on anything but an NES. That power adapter outputs AC power for no logical reason at all. The NES doesn't even need AC power; it runs fine off a replacement DC power adapter just like any other console.

Long Story Short: If you plug that power adapter into any console other than NES you are sure to fry it.

Transformers output an AC signal with the magnitude of the voltage proportional to the ratio of ampere-turns between the primary and secondary coils. If the NES power brick produces an AC sine wave, then it's likely just rectifying--removing the negative half-swing (half wave) or inverting it (full wave)--the signal inside the console. The large capacitor that actually stores the DC voltage from the rectifier circuit could be internal to the console or the power supply, depending on the console, as well.

In any event, the NES' power supply should, theoretically, be usable with other consoles, as long as it's at least rectified before being connected to the console.
