Hidden: This was a great little Norwegian (or was it Swedish) film. Some pretty creepy moments and a very clever (if not entirely original) story - even if borrowing from other stories, the story was originally done.

It says it's the final movie, but how many other movies have done this and then went on to make another dozen sequels? Just of the top of my mind:

Friday the 13th: the "Final" Chapter
a Nightmare on Elm street: the "Final" Nightmare
I smell a Jigsaw copycat.

And it's called "Freddy' Dead: The Final Nightmare", and technically it only had one film sequel (Freddy vs Jason), cuz Wes Craven's New Nightmare took place outside of the NOES universe, and also it wasn't technically "Freddy".

METHOD ACTING FAIL
No way, wasn't this the part where he runs through the office before or after running through glass in bare feet? I'd have that face too.

Watched Jacob's Ladder last night. That was....different. I kind of figured out the ending beforehand, but with all the crap going on I did second guess myself.

Ghost of Mae Nak: This movie had some goofy acting, but I don't know if it was really bad acting or just the difference in culture. Other than that, this movie was really good. Going off the Thai legend of the Ghost of Mae Nak - a woman from a tribe a long time ago is expecting a baby with her husband, the husband is called to war against another tribe, when he returns home he is reunited with his loving wife and child. They live happily, but the rest of the tribe will not go near them. Ultimately, they end up telling him that his wife and there child died during child birth and he was actually living with ghosts. The ghost of Mae Nak seeks revenge on everyone who tries to get between her and her true love. Some monks perform an exorcism and bind Mae Nak's spirit to a portion of her skull that is then removed and kept in the waistband of the monk who performed the procedure.

So this movie is about a modern Thai couple being haunted by the ghost of Mae Nak, trying to put her spirit to rest, so that they can live happily. Confusing because there names are Mak and Nak and the ghost's name is Mae Nak and her lover's name was Mak. So the subtitles, which were a bit iffy already, were quite amusing at times. This movie looks like it was from the 80s. I think a British guy wrote the script or something and translated it to Thai so that it would be more appropriate. The camera work was rough, but the movie was excellent. The ghost was pretty creepy and the two lead Thai actresses were absolutely gorgeous.

Image Watched this a few days ago. It was pretty good. And it was nice to see a Vietnam war movie that doesn't portray the Americans as a bunch of murdering psychopaths.

Saw the Black Swan the other day.

Amazing movie, the directing is excellent and it makes you feel the character's emotions. At first I thought Natalie Portman's acting was horrible, but then I realized what kind of mental problems the character had, so her acting made sense and turned out to be quite good. The finale was breathtaking as well. Overall if you like movies you must watch this one.

It's not mainstream, but anyone with good taste will like how artistic it is.
