Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I watched Top Gun for the first time. Considering the only other 80s movie I had seen with jet fighters was Iron Eagle (Can YOU handle the MUSIC?
) I wasn't expecting much, but I have to say I was impressed.

Firefox was the greatest movie when I was a kid. When I look back, I can't believe I use to watch some of this stuff. A plane that was controlled by your thoughts and Clint Eastwood has to steal it from the Soviets. Didn't get much better than that.
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Hell yes. I didn't really watch many Eastwood flicks when I was growing up. He did most of his action films in the 70s, and I was an 80s kid, watching Schwarzenegger and Stallone taking down anything that moved. In the last year, I've only really begun watching Eastwood's films, and man, I missed some awesome stuff. Having now seen all five of the Dirty Harry films, I've discovered something amazing.
God, Clint Eastwood movies are cool.

The last movie I saw was Dragon Ball Z Evolution. SO HILARIOUSLY BAD!
Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
* Eagle Eye - really good
* Twilight - pretty good
* Dr. Caligari (an old not-on-DVD-yet pseudo-sequel to The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari) - WTF?!
* Castle of Cagliastro - SWEET
* A Scanner Darkly - a really, really pretty polished turd... a gold, jewel-studded turd from the fey alien from American Dad
* Killer Kondom - worth seeing
* Natural Born Killers - SWEET
* Fight Club - FKING SICK!!!
* Deep Red (under old title "The Hatchet Murders") - good, but would have been better on a better DVD (it was on one of my budget-priced DVD box sets)
* Carnival of Souls (original) - really gr8
* College - lame!
* Futurama: Beast With a Billion Backs - funny as hell
* Futurama: Bender's Game - even funnier
* Socket (indie drama about a gay surgeon struck by lighting and becomes an electricity addict) - you gotta see it to get it
* 24 Hour Party People - good but drags on in some spots
* Saw 4 and 5 - MAKE NUMBER 6 ALREADY!!!
and some others. It's been a long winter w/o the 'Net.
If I remember something, I'll let you know.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I think the last movie I saw was Talladega Nights, which was silly but fun. I haven't really watched many movies lately as a result of me getting a hi def tv. It's like I've been putting off movie watching until I can get a blue ray player so I can really try and enjoy this whole hi def thing. I've been enjoying a lot of good tv though. Chuck, Fringe, Lost, Terminator:Sara Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse have all kept me entertained. Unfortunately, three of those shows are in danger of cancellation. I'm still miffed about losing Pushing Daisies. Getting off topic

Saw Wolverine midnight premiere last night with my roommate. I modded his gamecube a while back so he took me for free.
Fuck those reviews. This movie was just as good as the other 3. No more, no less. I had a good time. Sure, it has the same frequency of weak plot points, but they tie things up pretty well to setup the first 3 movies.
Yes I know, Sabretooth is completely different here than he was in X-men 1, but he's infinitely more interesting here. In the first movie, he was just a shaggy animal with zero personality.
Yes I know they gave Wolverine bone claws BEFORE the adamantium (thus classifying the claws as a mutant power), and that conflicts with the stories our generation grew up on, but I guess this change is in the recent comics, or so I've been told. A minor point.
Yes, there's a few other changes, like Emma Frost having no psychic power, and basically not acting anything like the stuck up bitch we knew her as. Agent Zero has no power besides being too good with guns. All that crap. Who cares? They're very minor characters. This movie is about Wolverine, and they did him justice, entirely.
And yes Deadpool's character and purpose is drastically changed midway. Who fucking cares, honestly? I know very little about Deadpool, but from everything I've seen, I'm convinced his character could never be portrayed authentically within the grounds of an X-Men movie. He'd be looking into the camera and cracking jokes at the audience and shit. It would absolutely ruin the movie. Why do people want that? It seems like 75% of the brutal hatred for this new movie is coming from Deadpool fanboys. Plus, I hate the fuck out of Ryan Reynolds. Getting his mouth shown shut seemed more like a punishment for his entire career. Fucking douche bag.
Going into this movie, you know a few things. You know Sabretooth and Stryker must live. You know you'll learn of Wolverine's life before Weapon-X, and his connections with Sabretooth. You know Wolverine must forget all of this somehow. The movie does a pretty good job covering all this. It delivers.
Nerds are so hard to please.
Oh and what the was up with that bathroom scene where Wolverine's claws looked awfully fake? It made the metal effects in Terminator 2 seem light years ahead of it. The rest of the movie looked great, but that scene seemed like it was unfinished and supposed to be edited out.
Also, why the fuck did they ship different post-credits scenes to different theaters? My theater had two of the three scenes. It was missing the scene with Wolverine in a bar, "drinking to remember".
