So the person who "leaked" the info about DS Remaster using DSIII engine came out and said his info was wrong. So all versions are just original assets.

as a heads up, Amazon has Dark Souls III (PS4/XBO) on sale for $20 today, which seems like a good price.

It's the complete edition, so yeah, pretty nice deal.
I also note that the Switch version of
Dark Souls Remastered is listed at the same $39.99 price as the XB1/PS4 versions, making it like $33 when preordering with Prime. So, that's kinda nice. I was expecting it to the be $59.99 because Switch.

I've beaten DS a couple of times now, but I think I might have to get the Switch version and play through it again. The thought of DS portable is just too enticing.

I was just browsing Amazon for Street Fighter V Arcade Edition and saw they have reduced the price of Demon's Souls.
So I bought Demon's Souls instead
