Well, I gave up on Hyperdimension Neptunia. Great writing, great voice acting, but one of the dullest combat systems and leveling systems I have played. So, I am on to newer, better games.
Xenoblade: I just made it to the tunnel leading to Colony 6. This game is huge, and there is so much to do! I would say I've advanced the story maybe 4 times, yet I have finished about 60 quests so far. I'm loving the way this game takes the MMO style and blends it into a unique ARPG. The combat feels familiar and fresh at the same time.
The World Ends with You: I just started playing this yesterday, having heard nothing about it, and I have been having a blast. I just finished day 3, so I am curious to see how the combat system will evolve now that I have more party members. The combat system is taking some getting used to, but its also one of the most unique systems I have seen, and manages to take advantage of both the touch screen, and the dual screens, in a way I have never seen.

Hope you're not talking about the English dub of Neptunia, haha... NIS America dubs are generally atrocious. Laughably bad.dunpeal2064 wrote:Well, I gave up on Hyperdimension Neptunia. Xenoblade I couldn't get into.. meh
TWEWY.. I liked the combat at lot, but I wasn't a big fan of the characters and story. Still, definitely one of the better Square Enix RPGs of the past decade (may not be saying much..)

Re: RPG Progress Report
Heh, I am talking about the English dub. I thought it was great, but then again, the entire game is a spoof. So, I guess I would call it "fitting" more than great. The voice acting is FAR better than the gameplay though.
Xenoblade and Last Story are the best JRPGs I have played from this generation. I like Last Story more so far, but I am still near the beginning of Xenoblade, so that could change.
I can see why someone wouldn't like the characters or story, although I personally am digging it. Even if I didn't though, I would play this game for the combat alone. Its just so different to have to control two characters, on two seperate screens, with two seperate control methods, at the same time. It almost hurts my brain... which is awesome!

Re: RPG Progress Report
I think Grandia II will be my next RPG choice, but beat PSO first and Half-Life is stopping progress. I had made it to 2nd boss fight against the big centipede looking jerk which was infuriating. I'm dreading attempting again.

I think despite the near-constant encounters in Grandia II, it is well worth the time.noiseredux wrote:I think Grandia II will be my next RPG choice, but beat PSO first and Half-Life is stopping progress. NM, I'm thinking of Skies of Arcadia with the encounter problem. Grandia II is just flat-out great.

Are you joking? Ever since the PS2 killed noise's mom, there is no way he's gonna get it for the PS2.dunpeal2064 wrote:Yeah, it came out on the PS2.
