when I beat the game, my only mage that was promoted was Tao. She started with what is it? The fire spell? But it was lvl 4 which was awesome. But yeah. I would've just promoted my mages earlier if I knew I'd have 2 of them at the end who never even got promoted.

it's cool! My family arrived and took over rooms/TVs, so I don't think I'll be sneaking any in until Sunday/Monday. Congrats , though!

You can occasionally use healers to finish off enemies - with decent staves they can still dish out some damage (also, the Power Ring and the Attack boost spell are very useful). That will help level them up.

Not a bad tip. Still waiting for Domingo to get that Attack Boost spell.

Would it still be okay or unwise to promote Lowe at 10 though?

I don't see any reason to promote him at 10, regardless of if you are going to drop Lowe later - he gets to use the staff that only Vicars can use with self-heals him each turn. But on the other hand you don't really lose much other than a temporary loss in MP I guess (he should recover them after several levels). I think all in all he will be even tougher to level up if you promote him early.
As far as I understand people prefer the healers that have Aura and thus drop Lowe for Khris and the late-game healer (Torasu) if they want to keep 2 in the party.

I rarely needed more than Heal 2 (already has range 3) to be honest so Lowe would be good enough for me most of the time anyway. None of the dedicated healers are going to be amazing for anything else, depending on how they level up there may be small differences in Attack and Def but you won't really get to use them as tanks or anything. Total MP makes a bigger difference I guess. For me both Lowe and Khris got the Quick spell and only Torasu got the rather useful Shield spell (protects ally from magic attacks - very effective!).

In the GBA remake you also get Narsha which can cast Aura (although personally I use up most or all of her MP in the first turns boosting 5 allies with Step or Attack lev 2). Now that girl never left my selection. Tremendously useful (I loved Step 2).

Super Monkey Ball is just around the corner.

...of course, I recommend Sonic Generations.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
