Hey,
Been lurking around here for a while so I thought I'd go that extra step and actually join up. Been gaming since first playing my brother's copy of Parsec on the Ti99 in the early 80's and am currently juggling some quality GTA 4 time with getting to grips with the control system on Metal Gear Solid on PS1. Lucky to be married to a gal who's idea of a good night in is to plow through Marvel vs Capcom on the DC so I guess she can stick around.....
Current Systems : ZX Spectrum 48k, C64, Amiga 500, Sega Megadrive (Jap Import), Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Gameboy, N64, Gamecube, DS, Wii,
Currently looking to catch up on Suikoden series for PS1 - if anyone in the UK wants to cash in on their copy let me know.
Nice to meet you all !!

been lurking for a while- thought i'd post.
starting gaming on the nes back in the late 80s. Right before snes. The snes is the first console i remember coming out and being excited for. Just picked up a lot of games/systems from a thrift store and need some help on some of them troubleshooting. Plus i have some stuff to swap.
Seems like a good excuse to get started with together retro right?
I'm living in philadelphia and coloring comicbooks for a living. I've worked on powers and have a marvel gig lined up that is yet to be announced. But i've also worked on a slew of image books and bprd 1946.
I currently own an intelivision, sega genisis I and II, 32x, sega cd, sega saturn, sega dreamcast, nintendo, snes, n64, gamecube, wii, ps1, ps2, xbox 360 and a nintendo ds.
Looking for japanese versions of the dreamcast and saturn as i could never get boot discs or burns to work on my mac. Because of that a copy of panzer dragoon saga would be nice. And purely for comfort wireless saturn controllers.
Also looking to pick up complete versions of chrono trigger and a link to the past. However with emulation out there for them there is no rush.

Hey!
I have been lurking for awhile and decided to join. I have a Sega Genesis and Dreamcast, N64, and for current systems I have a Wii and 360. I usually find myself playing my Genesis and Dreamcast more often than current systems though. I really dig the website and it has helped me discover games that I looked over as a younger kid.

yo
so basically i've been checking this site out for about a month now. and i finally decided to join.
i've always liked video games but it wasnt till recently i've gained a huge interest in them. i'm extremely partial to nintendo, but i love sega as well; particularly the genesis era. i'm not big on those add-ons though. i'm into collecting, but only games i like. i dont collect for the sake of saying i have it, i only buy things i want. and i'm cheap, i wont spend more than 20 bucks on a game, unless its current-gen and it really catches my eye. i currently own a SNES, N64, gamecube, DS, wii, genesis, and PS2. my next console's going to be a NES, if i can find one thats in good working condition with no repairs required. and i'm considering a dreamcast too, but i need more convincing.
as far as games go, my favorite genre is probably 2D platformers, and beat-em ups. i like a ton of different games from other genres, and i'm pretty much willing to try any game, but those are my absolute favorites. i dont really have the patience for most RPG's, and strategy isn't really my deal. of course theres always exceptions to everything.
and finally. my top 5 favorite games:
5. goldeneye 007 (n64)
4. sonic the hedgehog 2 (genesis)
3. resident evil 4 (gamecube)
2. tetris (nes/gameboy)
1. super mario bros 3 (nes)

RetroNewbie from DownUnder
Hi All,
Only signed up yesterday - Mainly on strength of 'Retro Together' feature on Marble Madness (been playing it on MAME - it plays pretty good with an analogue pad
).
A quick intro about me: 39, originally from UK, now in New Zealand (been here less than a year). Into retro via whatever I can emulate with my aging (4 year old) laptop -It's suprising how well it does
. Other interests than gaming: Mountain Biking, Beer (MTBing THEN Beer if possible
), Films, Music - the usual
Gaming Platform History: 1983/4 - C64 (UK - so no disk drive - Tape all the way! LOL) - it lasted and lasted - until it got hot enough to fry an egg on
. Then no computer til the mid-90's, a secondhand Amiga A500 (with a WHOLE 1MB of RAM
) - that lasted til first console - a PSX in '97 (first game Resident Evil), followed by PS2 in '01 (PS2 is still in storage- so it's PC emulation via MAME, Nebula, Visual Pinball, etc all the way for now.
Games I'm playing most at the moment:
Marble Madness, Gun.Smoke, Super Hang-On (MAME)
House of the Dead, Daytona USA (Nebula)
Kings of Steel, The Getaway, Medieval Madness (Visual Pinball)
Hi to everyone,

Hi to everyone,
HOW
Hey, I'm Haoie. From NZ, I collect PS1 games.
I have almost 200 in my collection now, and have been collecting since mid 2003.
I also take an interest in emulation, specificially the 16B era games.
I was referred here from Digitpress, you may know me from there.
Cheers.

If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
