Finally convinced my boss to let us get a storage unit with AC, and I ended up getting one cheaper and larger than our old one. Damn near died moving everything into it though with this heat.

No kidding, you guys are in the middle of a heat wave, no? Thank goodness for AC storage. Hope you got a good lock. Gonna be folks looking for AC to hole up from the sun.

Where, generally, are you Megas?

As far as I can tell, while so much of the rest of the country is having a record-breaking heat wave, we seem to be having the mildest summer I can recall.

Dallas, or nearby it at least in a little suburb.

I'm joining a DND campaign this weekend. Completely new to it but I hope it'll be fun. I'll be meeting a handful of new people doing this too, so hopefully it'll be the start of more socializing.

Nice! I was always curious about checking out DND. A former co-worker gave me an open invite to check it out with him and his group of friends. But I need another hobby like I need another hole in my head. Anyways, hope you have fun!

That sounds like a good time, PH. Hope you enjoy it! I've been curious about D&D too. Haven't played it, and don't think I know anyone who does.

I played something that I think was similar when I was a kid though, which was the Marvel Super Heroes Adventure game. Had fun checking that out with my cousin.

A game of DnD is heavily dependent upon 3 things:

The Dungeon/Game Master’s comfort with the rules. (Not mastery, comfort.)

The DM/GM’s willingness to wing it both in story content and rulings.

The comfort of the players to explore the social space of the game together.

I used to play a lot of D&D. Remember, ultimately it's about having fun. Always. Hopefully you'll end up with some thrills, some laughs, and a new crew of folks to hang out with.

One of my close friends that I grew up with is back in town for the weekend, making the trip up from South Carolina. I took off work today, tomorrow, and Monday to clear my schedule so we can hang out and catch up!

Tonight we have reservations for omakase, so I'm looking forward to that! I've ate a lot of sushi in my time, but have never went out for omakase before.
