Fuck it. I tried but no matter what I say no one gets it. I've tried to explain it but no one understands what I'm trying to say.

Plus it seems like no one has anything to say unless you can spin it in a way to make fun of me.

Why do I keep coming here? It just keeps making me feel worse.

I'm taking a sabbatical from Racketboy. Hopefully when, or if, I return it'll be to people that don't treat me like a joke.

Smell you later.

Agreed. Very proud of our Samurai.

I'm still on sabbatical from this site but I'm still on Facebook and Instagram. Also Reddit and Imgur.

Flake's Commentary: Repo is quite active in Reddit's Ouya community which is surprisingly robust and positive.

Reality can be a real bitch, and hiding from it never did anyone any favors.

I have a smile today. Co-worker is doing a little konmari at home and found a small number of Pokémon cards she had originally picked up just to have for nostalgia purposes. Have them to me to give my kid. Nothing brightens someone’s day like a gift from a stranger (kid’s never met the coworker). He drew her a couple thank you Pokémon so those will go to work with me tomorrow.

I appreciate it guys. Repo, no one wishes you ill on here. My bet stands, and I hope you make me look like a fool someday moving to New York. Life is hard and you have to make sacrifices so you can get what you want. My lease is ending this month and I'm moving back in with my folks so I can save money for a house, or potentially a store. I sure as hell don't want to move to that boring town, but I'm taking a bit of time to reassess and plan out things. Make the best with what you have and move with intent.

This is a good idea if you want a house, especially during this current housing crisis (I think it's a lot worse in Canada though).

My wife and I had a weird issue on Monday. I was out working when she called me to tell me that all of our smoke detectors had gone off. She had checked the apartment and the building for any evidence of fire. She also notified the front office as a precaution.

When I came home, one of our fire alarms was still going off, albeit faintly. I swapped batteries in our others, because they were due, but when I swapped out the 9v in the one beeping smoke detector, it started right back up. Apparently that one was quite old, so the complex had it replaced yesterday, and I know low batteries and age can cause smoke detectors to sometimes go off, but I wonder if the haze in Atlanta on Monday was part of it. Apparently the smoke from the Canadian wildfires has drifted this far south.

So yeah, the Canadian wildfires may have set off my smoke detectors...in Atlanta, Georgia.

If your smoke detectors are wired in series, when one goes off they will all go off.

Many smoke detectors have different chirps for low battery and for a defective unit. The defective unit chirp doesn't always set off the others.

Yeah, I know the low battery chirp. Changed more than my fair share of batteries in these things over the years. It also didn't help these things had been installed during the George W. Bush administration.
