Trashed businesses, trashed structures, wrecked brand new and used privately owned cars and other property. It's not right. I get they're mad, but going out and rationalizing let's break some shit is not the answer. Maybe I'm forgetting but 8 years ago we didn't see a bunch of angry white people rushing into business districts and minority neighborhoods burning the place down. Fed up with the tactics both sides are exhibiting right now.
You are forgetting, because there was much of that happening 8 years ago. Difference being of course that Obama was not a hate monger.

Nobody is condoning such behavior. I certainly wouldn't, as evidenced by my "I won't stand in the streets and protest" comment.

Why do you continually bring up race in the display of bad public behavior? This isn't about white people vs. black people or a white president vs. a black president. The people who are angry right now include all races and sexes and just like you don't want to be boxed in, neither do we. I have not done as much as shoot an angry look at a Trump voter. When it's the other way around you brush it off as a "few stupid trolls".

You're questionable in your approach. I certainly hope I'm wrong about the underlying message of your postings.

It was sarcasm, not easily as much detected without audio behind it in text.

Maybe I did forget, you have examples? I just don't remember when Obama got in a bunch of right leaning types breaking peoples property and setting fires with non peaceful protesting.

I also don't agree that Trump is a hate monger and more than Obama was with his social justice warrior tactics. If anything he's silent when he really has the demand not to be, but silence doesn't mean agreement or being complicit. People need on both sides to stop taking things so damn extreme and just let things play out as they may be surprised or confirmed, but jumping to conclusions now is bad.

There's even a few hundred thousand people out there right now trying to get a petition going to demand/force the electoral college members to switch their vote on Dec 19 so Hillary becomes president (in essence saying screw the voters as our vote counts more which isn't right.) The divisive stuff needs to just clam up for now and then ratchet it up when (if) they are proven right.

When people make racist statements to troll others, that makes them racist. We are a product of our actions and words. The same racists (inc. Trump himself) who made racist comments when Obama was elected are now even more empowered to see their adopted figurehead (Trump) in office.

To clarify:
Are all Trump supporters racist?
No
Did the non-racist supporters support him for racist reasons?
By definition, probably not.
Did lots of racists support Trump?
Yes
Is Trump himself a racist?
Based on his statements and business practices, the evidence suggests yes. (You are what you do and say, little more.)
Can racists have black friends?
Yes

No time to cite tons of incidents. Here are a couple...

http://americablog.com/2012/11/racist-s ... a-win.html

Then there was this...

Also, I'm sick of hearing "Social justice warrior" as if it is some type of insult. I'm sorry as I can be that people wanting to treat each other with equality and dignity is offensive to you, but that term used in a negative light is just plain ignorant. "SJW" at me all you like, I take it as a compliment.

Social justice should be something we all strive for.

I would certainly expect isolated incidents. There are enough crazy people for that to happen. However, I'm pretty sure there wasn't anything on the scale of what's going on now.

Plus, in the case of that Ole Miss link, calling that a "riot" is a bit of a stretch. A riot generally involves the destruction of property. Until then, it's a protest.

I'm sorry, but for people to be petitioning to have the result changed is kinda shitty, IMO.

Plus, with recent events and tensions, the electorate would almost be coerced to in order to calm things down. That's if they would even consider it.

Yeah I don't agree with petitioning. The results are the results even though I am not happy about it. I just want people to treat others with love and respect and stop the endless cycle of hate.

There were plenty more things going on than just what I posted. Perhaps you are right about the scale of it all, however it isn't a contest. It's all unacceptable behavior.

The circumstances were different as well, Obama did not campaign on hate. I think a lot of the outrage you see (justified or not) is due to the awful nature of the things Trump has done and said. It doesn't make their reaction acceptable, and I don't condone it...but it is a lot different than hating a man simply because he is black.

You don't see all these riots in the past when republican candidates won the election, even awful candidates. The outcry you see in riots if often representative of a general feeling of persecution, not a difference of political views.

+1, as much as I would love to see it happen...we have to accept the election results as they are.

Considering his lingering legal woes I'm not fully opposed to impeachment if the circumstances call for it.
