It's becoming more and more apparent that I either have some insane infection that's lasted for years, or I am potentially hypoglycemic. That's what my mom is thinking, whom has all these weird sorts of issues herself and I've taken on some junk as well. I've noticed over the past few weeks at the new job my energy levels have very big spikes, up or down, then it hit me... well I've been drinking Sprite or soda at least once a day there during lunch. I don't even hit up caffeine, but I'm still gulping down loads of sugar. So today and yesterday, I skipped out on pop and just had water with my lunches... well by the time ~4:00pm rolls around or something (few hours after I eat lunch), I hit a really bad slump. Irritable, dizzy, weak, achy, ugh. Worse than the days I do have soda, except I know in the long run it'd be better to fight it and get these habits out of my system.

So what do I do, drive home and get some fast food to load up on energy again for the temp fix at night.

Hopefully I can get this figured out soon. I plan to see this guy my mom and family have known all our lives, so he's trustworthy... I forget what he is, but he's between a doctor and a chiropractor, kind of does both and focuses a lot on the physical health of the body itself (kind of anti-meds). They have this insane test I want to take that'll literally take a few hours to complete, but I'll be drinking some nasty fluids that will supposedly be able to give them a glance or data on all my major organs and functions in the body... so that should be a good place to start getting answers I hope.

So definitely the #1 goal of the year, to figure this crap out and get healthy again. It's scary though. But I'd rather KNOW than not know, but if I am hypoglycemic or something, or also have candidiases... I don't know what I'd do. Luckily my mom and sister both tested for that last year and they came out fine, but who knows. I want to get tested for that myself to know for sure.

Phew, once you get past those teen years, you're no longer invincible.

If you eat a proper amount of fat and protein for lunch, without sugar, you wont crash and you probably wont be hungry again until normal dinner time.

When you started to talk about the doctor, I had high hopes, but after you mentioned a test that takes hours and having to consume liquids... it's not the same thing. I've been going to a doctor that does Nutrition Response Testing, and by the book. There's a lot of doctors that'll do natural healing or holistic medicine or whatever, but it's not the same thing. In fact, I wouldn't recommend seeing any of them. I would even recommend being weary of a NRT doctor until you can find out more about them (they can only loosely follow the NRT practices).

My calcium intake is probably subpar. I usually have a bowl of cereal everyday for breakfast, this was something I did work on last year and change... going from like, Cocoa Puffs to Honey Nut Cheerios. Sometimes my mom has soy milk or coconut milk, I can't really tell if any of them are better for me.

Other than that though, I honestly don't get a ton of meat. If I do it's just mixed in from microwaved meals, pizza, or junk like that. And I honestly don't get a lot of fruits in me at all. I definitely get more vegetables, though again it's usually just mixed in with all that other junk. I probably get tons of wheat/glutton, which I just really hope isn't' an issue for me.

But yeah, no problem saying I probably don't have good balance at all. I could probably definitely work on getting more fruit in my diet.

Hmm, well I trust the guy for sure. He seems to be big on enzymes and probiotics, which is probably what he'd suggest to me after the testing, or let me know if there's anything specific I need to look for and send me to some other specialists. It seems worth it to me... knowing what's functioning right in my body and what might not be. I had stomach ulcers in the past too during jr. high, acid reflex junk and all, I think this would able to see if that's an issue again as well.

It's a start and I think he'd be able to direct me to other places if need be, but yeah. As my mom says in the long run it's probably just my diet and lifestyle that's going to need some major changes, but it's hard to get the motivation to figure this stuff out myself when I always feel like this. It really is going on like a few years now that I've felt "off" like this. It really sucks but I guess I'm just at this point where I just want someone to tell me what's wrong, rather than me stressfully trying to figure it out on my own for now.

I've got some tonsolitis issues too. It's not as gross as it looks if you google around, but I do get that white gunk built up in the back of my throat, sometimes it feels like something is "stuck" back there, I absolutely can't stand it. So I could really have some kind of long lasting infection as well. THIS is something I have specifically brought up to doctors in the past and they always pass it off as nothing to be concerned about, "it's just a bunch of dead skin" on my tongue, "use a scraper and you'll be fine!" Ugh don't even get me started on how annoying doctors are, lol. Especially at this age, "Oh you're 24, not overweight, you're a healthy young man! No problems!"

My mom's told me she had candidiasis infection when she was my age too, I guess she diagnosed herself back then after reading some book, changed her diet and fought it for a month and that got rid of it. This might be the case for me too, since I did kind of grow up on antibiotics, and other crap processed food, which supposedly can cause that kind of infection.

Sooooo yeah, my eating habits need some work. :?

I don't want to sound whiny or preachy or anything (I'm still learning a lot about this stuff every day), but I speak from experience now when I say that your blood sugar is incredibly important. Before you think about infections and such, you have to rule out the hypoglycemic possibility. Uncontrolled blood sugar, high or low, affects a ridiculous number of things in your body, and over a long period will lead to bigger problems, and you don't want that.

Its best to just go to the doctor if you think that's the case, but if you don't want to do that right away or think they might blow you off, pick up a Blood Glucose meter (fairly cheap at Walgreens) and start testing yourself and recording your results a couple of times a day, say before and after breakfast and dinner. Average levels for a healthy person are between 70-110, so if you get some readings below 70 and show that to your doctor, you'll get some attention immediately.

Good luck man.

You know, I really should do that right away, maybe I'll pick one up tomorrow. I think I've seen some around Walmart. I guess that might be a good idea for a start, and yeah this is probably something that's needs attention first. I got my glucose and cholesterol tested last year, my glucose was 101H and my cholesterol turned out okay. Everything looked okay, but I definitely understand it's just "at that moment", since I obviously could have some imbalance going on or something. I hear the extended glucose test is not fun at all, which is probably exactly what I need to get done sometime...

Xeogred I hope you get it figured out and get to feeling better. I know how it is to feel like shit everyday. Not sure what my problem is but I've pretty much felt like shit every day that I can remember since some time in high school. There was one time when I was in 10th grade (I think), I broke out in hives and went to the doctor and found out I was severely anemic, like one notch above having to get a blood transfusion. I started taking iron and shortly after (maybe a month and a half into it) quit taking it because I never remembered to. I've been "fine" since but always feel like crap in some way or another and it's just aggravating, dragging through the day wishing you could just wake up once and not feel like shit before the day is over. I often feel nauseous, like I might pass out, my heart races and I have to catch my breath, it's almost like a panic attack, I don't know if it's that I still have low iron or what. I sometimes wonder if it's something to do with blood sugar because certain foods seem to trigger it sometimes, I think. But honestly I don't know. I haven't been to a doctor in forever.

Those can be signs of low blood sugar.

I know its none of my business, but if you feel that way a lot you really should get to a doctor.

I hate going to the doctor, believe me (the only doctor I've ever felt comfortable with has been retired for two years, can you guess where up until a week ago I hadn't been for two years?), but its worth checking something like that out.

Well, it's fine. You're probably right. I try to avoid it at all cost though. haha
But I recently started taking this supplement called Iron All (contains a pretty minimal amount of iron as well as a couple of other vitamins). I have only been taking it for a little over a week now but I have managed to get through at least 2 days that I felt signigicantly better. It could just be coincedence or it could be that maybe I do need the extra iron. I know it takes a while for stuff like that to really get into your system, so I'm hoping that soon I will be able to tell a difference.
I also have quite a bit of anxiety for a number of different reasons, which doesn't seem to be quite so bad lately, but I kind of come in and out of that so it's hard to tell if I'm just having a good day or "getting better".

Finally tried out a hot tub. With four gorgeous half-naked women no less.
Would have been more entertaining had I not been pushed in while wearing business casual attire.
Of course I kinda need that attire now. (It's been four days... how can my shoes still be damp?!)
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.
