I started playing the English Translation bootleg cart of Final Fantasy VII for the Famicom on my portable FC.

I've actually never played the original PS1 game so I'ts all new to me. I'm quite enjoying it though. I'm wondering whether I should pick up the real game on Steam and attempt a side by side play through.

Tried to play Child Of Eden yesterday, but my Kinnect is acting especially dumb. I was at least five feet away from the Kinnect, and it had problems recognizing me.

I am spending some time trying out Risen on the PC. So far, so good. I encountered a small bug due to font sizing, but otherwise things have gone smoothly. The game scratches the same itch as an Elder Scrolls or Gothic game.

I've heard it called a spiritual successor to the Gothic games. I had fun with it myself.

I can see that. It certainly has that vibe, though I don't know if it is anywhere near the scope of the later Gothic games. I'll put some more time into it and see how things go. As for right now, I'm sitting in the swamps with the Don's men doing quests, though I feel really weak. I may make my way to town to see if I can find a strength trainer somewhere. And some armor. I need some armor.

picked up playing Earthbound again. It was really easy to pick up where I left off thankfully. The Wii U gamepad is spectacular for off screen play when I am sitting in my rocker recliner with the baby napping on me. Getting pretty far! Hopefully beat it soon and move on to Shadowrun Dragonfall!

I just finished helping the Mr. Saturns and on my way to Fourside. Overall, I am enjoying the game a lot and it has been a nice level of challenging. No real crazy grinding thankfully except for when you immediately get a new party member, but even then it is minor.

I love the charm and presentation of the game, especially the visuals. I really want to try out Mother 3 at some point and felt that I needed to at least complete Earthbound before then. If I love all three, I will definitely go for Earthbound Zero on the Wii U. I know it is hugely flawed as most NES RPGs are, but I would like to support it if I enjoy it.

I think you will like Mother 3, though Mother 3 has some very difficult fights in it. Mother on the NES isn't too bad as long as you're willing to grind at the beginning (which is standard in NES RPGs) and grind when you get the robot.
