Read this little article:

"Of Brigade's verified voters, 40 percent of registered Democrats pledged to vote for Trump."

When a chunk that large of the Democratic Brigade registrants choose the Republican candidate, despite his less than savory behavior, something is clearly amiss. There are many other articles releasing now with breakdowns that show the same thing; many Democrats voted for Trump. This leads me to believe that there's a significant portion of the Democratic party that is not highly vocal and has different values than the more exuberant fringe members of the party. What I'm saying is that there are Liberals enrolled as Democrats, and it's not helping anything. It certainly didn't help Mrs. Clinton when she had to try to appeal to both camps within her party, a losing proposition.

I believe if more younger voters truly understood what the Libertarian Party is, they would register and vote within that pillar of politics. And considering how Liberal today's youth is, the Libertarian Party would likely have a stronger base than it ever has before. Perhaps then, the Democratic vote could stand for its pure agenda again, and the Libertarian Party would be bolstered by its brave new world of voters. If that were the case, Gary Johnson may have actually had a chance this time. And today's very liberal, very socially minded youth, might actually see the kind of change they so desperately dream of.

Racism is racism, split all the hairs you want. "Left, lefty, leftist, etc...", we get it. Blanket statements, eh?

You are like a broken propaganda record. Nothing gets through, you just keep regurgitating the same babble about Obama ruining your life and how angry you are. Maybe you should take some personal responsibility for your own failures instead of being angry at the world that things haven't been going your way.

Spinning Obama as the bad guy against someone like Trump is so inherently feeble that nobody is bothering to try and tackle it with you. It's just too ridiculous.

What exactly was your point about black people also being racist anyway? Something fishy in them there waters bud. Nobody ever made any excuses for anyone being racist, except for maybe you...

This is a good point. One can dream they will learn how to make the change that is necessary to stop all the odious behavior that is being demonstrated all over our country right now. Our generation has clearly failed.

To be fair though; our generation didn't have the homogenizing power of social media apps and smartphones.

Let me ask a hypothetical question: If she had won, everything would be totally fine?

I always like to crack a joke about libertarians: "Libertarians are just conservatives that want to smoke weed." I know it's not true, but it's still funny to me! ;)

Nope, we just grew up collecting ourselves into small cliques that would extricate ourselves from those who didn't fit our particular mold. We were always too divided to accomplish anything great.

Kids today are on a good path, they just need to learn that hashtags and memes won't incite any real change. If they could carry that mindset and that collective fellowship over into real life action, just imagine what they could accomplish.

I don't "think" people would harass trump voters, but there are definitely crazy people on both sides. It definitely would not be as bad though. Again just hypotheticals because that is all we live in.

Very true.

Also true is the "social media bubble", the danger of living in a select hivemind of echo chamber tweets and continual reaffirmation. I was thinking this was going to be a problem for folks this election, and I believe it was. But don't take my word for it, there have been many recent articles about the effect. Here are a few:

http://www.cbc.ca/listen/shows/the-180/segment/10754246

http://www.refinery29.com/2016/11/12940 ... can-people

There was a REALLY good one on NPR radio today, but I can't find the article online right now. I might be too tired to do a good job Googling at the moment.

That's one good thing about a thread like this, we're in a blender of alternate opinions here. Opinions that require thinking and constructive typing to express, rather than just a thumbs up or retweet.
