The shadow of Cubone, Chansey and Magikarp of all things is where I sit. Caught 84, Seen 87. Cubone and Magikarp bug me less, they never actually appeared while the other was just a one time affair and it ran from me. >:\ You're +2 on me for total spotted.

I've got a few to say the least I've only spotted and caught one or egg hatched once so much of where I am was dumb luck I suppose.

I'm currently sitting at: Caught 84, Seen 86. The missing two runaways being Chancy and Golem, the little buggers. It would have been 83 caught, but I hatched a Seel yesterday :D

I currently have enough candies to increase the number caught by 5, but I'm holding out for more candies to power them up first (or maybe even find more powerful specimens) before I do that. For instance, I caught/transfered enough Digletts on vacation to acquire 88 candies. You need 50 to evolve, but the strongest Diglett I have is only CP 218 and near the max of its power arc.

I've also got about 8 Pokemon who are ridiculously close to the number of candies required to evolve. So I only need a couple more lucky/strategic catches/hatches and that Caught number will go up.

Stayed at a hotel over the weekend where I could hit two pokestops from my bed, and two others from the bathroom. If that wasnt enough, we ended up with tons of rares spawning. Lickitung, Muk, Aerodactyl, Hitmonchan, Clefables, Tauros, I caught all but the Aerodactyl and Hitmonchan. Also went up almost three levels, just shy of 20 (sub 500xp). Despite the plethora of Pokestops, I ran out of pokeballs several times. There were times where I threw three or four balls at a cp 50 pidgey and it would break free and run. My theory is that the more users in one area the harder it is to catch them, since when I left I started catching cp 500 stuff like I use to.

Now my top three are:
Exeggutor - Decent, Strong attack and other features - cp1342, zen headbutt/seedbomb
Weezing - Amazing, Strong defense and blown away - cp1114, tackle/shadowball
Jolteon - Amazing, Strong Attack and blown away - cp 1070, thunder shock/discharge

My favorite two are:
Raticate - Amazing, Strong Attack and blown away - cp 17, bite/hyperbeam
Fearow - Decent, Strong Defense and meh - cp 22, peck/aerial ace

Time to take over some of the podunk gyms near me...

Fastbilly had a better day than many of us have had here! The Raticate's got a good moveset. That Exeggutor with Seed Bomb will do well on attack & defense. I had one with that, but I should have kept it. I've got an Exeggcute with good appraisal that I'm working up for my next one.

Today was rather interesting! I was able to take out a couple of easy Mystic gyms.

The Flagpole - you all know that one, had a sub 1000CP Snorlax, sent my original Vaporeon in after it, dodged VERY well, avoided both Hyper Beams and it only lost half its health. No revives! Put Vaporeon 2 (Water Pulse) in. Still there as of this post, I noticed an Arcanine joined me there.

Methodist church (Valor territory 90% of the time) - took out my first over 2000CP Pokémon (Exeggutor) all by myself. It was the only one in the gym. Flareon #1 (Fire Blast) used it, swapped it out before it fainted, Flareon #2 (Flamethrower) finished it off. No revives again. Put Jolteon in there (Thunder) for a bit of a change of pace. This gym is near a Walmart I frequent, so I was able to follow along as I went in. Valor dropped off a Golduck and a 1800CP Vaporeon. As I left, I noticed it was under attack, and we all got wiped out. But not before I claimed a double bonus for today! (20/1000)
Image
My 5km eggs hatched too. Poliwag/Diglett/Doduo/Nidoran Female/and best of all, a PSYDUCK! 21 candies along with it! So I was able to finally evolve my 14/14/14!
Image
CP - awesome!
HP - decent!
Moveset - *sad horn* CONFUSION/HYDRO PUMP. YNOWATERGUN?! Confusion is good but I don't think it's as fast or as meter building as Water Gun would have been. I'm using this primarily as a gym defender where both these attacks will do very well. Plus, I have a new Psyduck which "amazes me" (80-100%) and has 15/15 on ATK & DEF. Golduck 2 at 650CP will continue to serve as my gym trainer.

Finally, Team Mystic is serious here after that Colorado symposium. Check out these gyms and the CP of these Pokémon!

Insert DBZ pun about someone being blown away by their energy level yelling about it (to that image you spoiler hid just above. :)

I ended up with a new one today, 55cp which is a joke but I'll take the XP and pokedex entry on a shellder finally. Never saw one to count as a no-grab in the pokedex but it has been taunting me awhile now along side of magikarp.

Clearly fast had a very good day!

Holy hell. Do those people not sleep?

Or maybe they just have really mobile jobs. There's one Mystic player around here that I keep spotting at various locations with unusually powerful 'mon. I saw the CP levels and was initially impressed with his dedication. Then I read the name: CoxCableGuy.

Now you have yet another reason to add to the ever growing pile of why your cable guy was late for an appointment. That Tauros wasn't just going to go catch itself after all.

The HP on a 2700 Snorlax is over 250!!!!!!!

what 250?

You did not get Magikarp yet? I've run across 20 in the wild and with eggs.

But you wonder what those cable technicians are doing with their smartphones all day.

A little bit more news about the buddy system revealed today:

With the Buddy Pokémon feature, you can choose a favorite Pokémon from your collection to travel at your side, opening up in-game rewards and experiences. Your Buddy Pokémon will appear alongside your Trainer avatar on your profile screen and reward you with helpful bonuses—including Candy—as you walk with it. And there's even more in store for the Buddy Pokémon feature—coming soon!

So someone on The Silph Road reddit took to this news with the following:

Walked 100km with your Snorlax? Here's 5 Pidgey candy.

I couldn't help but laugh yet feel sickened by that possibility at the same time. At this point, I seriously wouldn't put it past Niantic to do something as diabolical as THAT!

I'll leave that idea to Strong Bad.

Finally, Vaporeon 2 (Water Pulse) still at the flagpole gym! An overnight stay at this point cannot possibly be ruled out!

I'm missing a lot of the non evolving Pokemon - tangela, lickiting, chansey, scyther- as well as all the non European region exclusives. Oddly enough, i am also missing grimer.

I'm on holiday in Spain right now, and all the common Pokemon here are super rare back home in London. Added Clefable, vulpix, growlithe, arcanine, Marowak, magneton, electrode, mr. Mime, poliwrath, arbok, sandslash, primeapeh and charmander, caught a couple of dratinis, and made some good progress into my dugtrio, golem, rapidash, raichu, rhydon and dodrio. The stuff here is amazing. I've not seen a single drowZee, and barely any rattata. They have it cushty here!

I'm now at 109 in my pokedex

109?! dang.

Vaporeon 2 is back today. I hope it made it overnight, at least.

The Pokémon Go Plus wearable device is releasing on the 16th. It will automatically retrieve items from nearby Pokéstops, and also automatically catch Pokémon you already have in your Pokédex. It will NOT track distance for eggs, however. There are still a lot of details missing as to how all of this is going to affect ball inventory and other issues. The system requirements are also at the link, but 2GB of ram for an Android phone? Mine has close to that, but wow. I imagine it will be very difficult to obtain at launch, and I know pre-orders have been sold out for months.

Fast update - I've been resupplying well the past few days, picked up over 15 revives and a ton of potions -- I'll be ready for tomorrow, apparently the parks I said were closed earlier in the week should be reopened by the time I go.

The flagpole gym now has 4 Snorlax including mine. I drove up there yesterday and noticed 2 were there with an open slot so I thought why not make it 3? This morning it's still there and someone trained to put a 4th in. Nothing says intimidation and "pass!" quite like a gym with 4 Snorlax with over 150HP each in it! It would be a huge waste of potions/revives at this point to take us on, but we'll see how long it stays.
