The problem with neutral is that it's way too subjective. In my opinion, neutral means there's an equal amount of negative aspect to the transaction as there is positive. A complete 50/50 split. That's actually a lot of negative, when you think about it. However, some one else might not view a neutral that way. Some one might leave a neutral feedback/comment when really 75% or more of the transaction was positive. Some pet peeve they had with the transaction leads them to leave a neutral feedback.

I'm really not against trying to encourage people to post more details though. Like dsh said, it's pretty much unenforceable, and I was thinking the same thing. But I see no problem with adding "please include as much details as possible" in the OP. Not sure how many people would actually see that though.

A lot of transactions are pretty ho hum though, there might not be much to say. Guy pays in a reasonable amount of time, other guy sends out item in a reasonable amount of time, everything goes off without any issues.

I don't see anything wrong with the current system, a quick numerical reference count of total transactions. Each transaction no matter how large or small gets only 1 point, only fair way to do it. As far as the hows or whys, one simply can go to the individual's sales thread. A good indicator is thankyou bump comments from satisfied buyers.

@ dsheinem - The one addition I might suggest is to make the name listing linkable back to each Seller's BST Thread. This would be a major undertaking if you decided to do this, the sellers can do the work and provide the info. Links are added only for sellers who take the time to submit back to you.

The end result is the already alphabetized list would then be duel purpose, Feedback and instant access to individual BST threads.

For instance, here is your BST:

Interesting idea CRT.

I don't know about linking someone's BST thread though as those can change. Not everyone maintains the same one forever. Some people will make one, abandon it for months, then make a new one. However, changing the name to a search for someone's name in the BST thread to find feedback might be more useful. It would still be a major pain in the ass to go through and add links to everyone's name the first time. Adding a few new people each update after would be easier.

Thanks. This would fall back on the individual sellers who are supposed to maintain only one thread anyways. The proposal saves having to search or look thru a BST listing. Agree it is a pain to get implemented, sellers should do the leg work if they want their BST included.

This of course is up to dsheinem. Anyone desiring to do this could make it easier for a simple copy/paste by providing the URL with their name inserted and current OP points just like how I did Dave's above.

EDIT
A side benefit is that this encourages only one BST Thread per member.

good ideas CRT and Hobie. MrHealthy, thanks for getting the ball rolling on this. I'll see what seems feasible sometime next week to improve some of what exists now, as another stopgap measure to an actual auto system of some sort...

Users should be notified when and why their posts are deleted, and how they were a violation of the rules.

I second this. Not that I often have posts deleted, but when they are, I'd like to know why. Even Gamefaqs contacts members when they get modded.

A "search this thread" option would be amazing.

I usually let noobs that run afoul in BST that I'm nuking their post. I'm pretty sure I've let people know if I deleted something else put a note in the remainder of their post. If I move something that was in the wrong place or merge it I often just do it though.

Of course spammers get a boot to the head with no warning. I love banning then when they're still online, or better yet, just signed up 5 minutes ago.
