Well, it's a guess, but if it's on par with the PSX multitaps that were $50 when they first came out, or the SNES multitaps which were $40~ish stand-alone or $69 as a pack in w/Super Bomberman, then in today's dollars, $70 would be about the equivalent.
I mean, Wiimote +'s are still $40 new. I have to think this is going to come in higher than one controller. I hope i'm wrong...
Wii-U thoughts so far
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
As much as I love the Gamecube controller, what's actually the point? It's a two generation old controller that's no longer sold. If people want a nice, standard controller to use, there's the pro controller.

Blast, I missed it.mjmjr25 wrote:Yeah, sev just posted it a few posts up - looks attractive.
I can almost guarantee it is there for two reasons:Reprise wrote:As much as I love the Gamecube controller, what's actually the point? It's a two generation old controller that's no longer sold. If people want a nice, standard controller to use, there's the pro controller.
1. Gamecube games on VC - which leads me to hope for more official adapters, but I doubt it because of point 2.
2. It is the "official" controller of pro smash brothers players. They will not play with anything else. Some smaller tournaments also ban any other controller.
Re: Wii-U thoughts so far
Usually you would ban a controller because it's not available to everyone and potentially gives you an advantage. I fail to see how an official Wii Classic Controller fits into either category.fastbilly1 wrote:2. It is the "official" controller of pro smash brothers players. Maybe they ban people playing smash with wii remotes, the same way they ban toddlers from taking part in the Olympics.MrPopo wrote: Usually you would ban a controller because it's not available to everyone and potentially gives you an advantage. Potentially - nice as the Wii U's essential controller layout (and Pro Controller) are, they do lack analog triggers. So that might be a factor for select games.Reprise wrote:As much as I love the Gamecube controller, what's actually the point? It's a two generation old controller that's no longer sold. I didnt say I agreed with it. But I do know that alot of fighting game tournaments are wired controllers only.MrPopo wrote:Usually you would ban a controller because it's not available to everyone and potentially gives you an advantage.
