It's horrifying you consider this an accomplishment, because that implies that in other years you would be doing Christmas music in October or even earlier.

I went to the thrift store yesterday, no discount Halloween costumes. What was there? On Halloween? Christmas decorations. I'm pretty my partner was super close to yelling in rage.

Been going to that store since it was the Pokémon Center. However I haven’t been in at least three years. I remember buying Team Rocket packs of cards from there when it was the PC. The door handles for the place now is a carry over from that old store — the handles are fashioned into poke balls.

Do people pull out guns to buy more Pokemon cards there like they did in that Target store?

I’m sure back in the day in the shittier parts of NYC guns were pulled out. Knives too. But nowadays no one is pulling guns for Pokémon cards. Outside of that adult child who pulled out a gun at some target, you’re not getting robbed for cards.

It was an amusing story. I'm not sure if it's the chain or just the one store, but they stopped selling cards after that.

Speaking of Target, the old Kmart in Kill Devil Hills (an hour away) is getting turned into a Target. I used to LOVE going to the Target in Winter Garden.

Yeah that’s the story.

I’m sure the other two NYCers can back me up here: during the 90s and 00s, the hottest items that were robbed off a person were North Face jackets, Timberland boots, and Jordan’s. I mean those were easily top three.

Then it transitioned to earlier iPhones and those large Beats headphones. They would wait by the subway doors and right before closing at a stop, they’d swipe your headphone from your head and you’d have no way of giving chase.

Nowadays, I don’t even know what’s popular, outside of a wallet. I can’t think of something so popular that people would be targeted for theft.

Good thing I rock a low-end phone and off-brand earbuds.

:) Food Lion moved the soda machine to the break room…

:? But space was already a premium in the break room.

The first sentence of the above post made me smile. Who needs high end phones, it's a pocket communication tool, an MP3 player and a camera, I don't expect anymore from it. ^^

(As for headphones... AudioTechnica ATH-M50x, enough said!)
