TBH, I continue to be impressed by 16bit (and 2D Saturn/PS1) all the time. That artistry of pixels and how they're animated does more for me than great textures, anti-aliasing techniques, and lightning effects.

me too, its nice to look back and see what you could pull out of those "limited" systems. I am a big supporter of art style.

Got an email from Nintendo today. IDK if this was posted already, but...

Register Mario Kart 8 with Club Nintendo by July 31rst and get a (free) download code for one of four games. The games are LoZ Wind Waker HD, NSMBU, Wii Party U, and Pikmin 3.

Good deal if you ask me. I was gonna be getting MK8 anyway, but now I'm excited to get a free game. I have WW and NSMBU already, but I'd love to get one of the other two.

Maybe some one can repost this in the game deals thread or whatever, if it hasn't been posted already.

I agree. Got reaction was pretty rough, but I had a feeling that it will be better than I expected. I see it as being a nice blend of zelda and dynasty warriors. You can see already that things like the health and such are more akin to Zelda. What we will see is a very, "Zelda Story," mixed with Dynasty Warrior fighting mechanics with zelda weapons tossed in to shake things up and add some variety to gameplay.

Yeah I'm mildly excited too. I've been plqying the One Piece: Pirate Warriors games and enjoying them quite a bit. The gameplay isn't particularly deep but it's all just pure fanservice with being able to play as so many characters and beat up lots of enemies with the various familiar attacks. I have to imagine the Zelda franchise will provide a similar feeling for me with this upcoming game.

What value does Nintendo get by registering your game so much that they are willing to give a free game for it?

Is it to drive Mario Kart 8 sales by using a "buy 2 for the price of 1" strategy?

It's just a promotion to entice buyers of not only the game, but the Mario Kart bundle.

They've run similar offers fairly often recently.
