Okay so Night Slashers dropped on the eShop today and I hath downloaded it. Seems okay so far.

Here's the thing though... This is literally just an emulated arcade game, and it has a zombie/horror theme. So, why the hell wasn't this released a month ago instead of 8 days after Halloween? Maybe the publisher was too busy tweaking the atrocity that is Heavy Burger.

My guess is that the lack of pro-controller support is entirely due to the new Pokemon GO-style Pokemon capture mechanics. You need to be able to tap the screen in handheld mode, or "throw" the joycon/pokeball controller when playing docked. I think it's a very silly, but very Nintendo move that you can't just have a button to press on the pro controller or otherwise to just override that if you don't wanna play that way. Nintendo really hates letting you play games in ANY other way than what they specifically deem the best way :?
Unpopular opinion: I don't like touch controls on my Switch. I like to keep the screen clean, and gunking it all up to catch Pokemon just isn't my cup of tea. I can at least tolerate the waggle of tossing a ball, but like everyone else I'd prefer a pro controller scheme. Is it that revolutionary that I imitate throwing the Pokéball?

I'm absolutely with you on the touch screen thing. I'd much rather use a stylus or nothing at all when it comes to a touch screen like that, so the capacitive touch screen on the Switch is something I often forget the system even has, let alone try and use myself

I'm with you guys. Smudging screens is not for me. On that note do any of y'all use a screen protector on the Switch? Just curious.

I wouldn't let my kids touch the Switch until I got a tempered glass screen protector on it. There were also reports around launch of warped docks that would scratch up the screen. I don't think it was very widespread but I wasn't willing to risk it.

I do and the one I got is fantastic. No problems so far, I've had it on since Day 1.

I don't think it's that unpopular, probably more than you realize about smudging and worse on touch screens. Why do you think so much money is made in everything from screen wipes to protective coverings to attach over the top of them? It annoying, worse when a program forces it just to be cute - it sucks.

Pokemon Go it is fun and makes a lot of sense, but on a Switch, hell no, should be optional entirely. Why make it even more annoying or harder to play having to accurately flick balls at the screen with a finger or using even the detached $50 (seems high doesn't it?) pokeball toy you can link up. It makes me wonder how they'll handle the limited money system from the traditional game since you only got a little cash by winning fights against other people. Buying balls then being a crappy thrower could really mess things up.

Best way to avoid smudges on your touch screen. Use a stylus. I use a very fancy one very regularly and have yet to have an issue. Maybe some day I will.

For what it's worth, you can also use a joycon and "throw" it just like you can with the Pokewalker controller thing. If you could legit ONLY play the thing either handheld or with the Pokeball controller THAT would be outright ridiculous highway robbery Xp

As it is, it's just the usual Nintendo "we know better than you how to play our game" nonsense.
