I saw a poster on reddit this morning complaining that the only reason he played Smash was to collect trophies and nothing else, so this change was a deal breaker for him. Can't say I understand that point of view (assuming he's serious), but whatever.

Super excited for Ultimate though, and the World of Light trailer was great. Nice to see a story mode again.

Some people seem to only play these games to unlock all the things. That's the main reason they like them and seems to be a main draw for the game to them. These are the same people who brag about how many platinum trophies they have on PSN, I assume

I'm super excited for the story mode too though! Their cinematics always look freaking amazing :D

I got into the Brawlhalla beta... and after like 10 mins remembered that I don't like Smash Bros style games at all. :?

ALSO, it's been announced that Pokemon Let's Go will not support the Pro Controller. Pre-order cancelled.

I popped Skyrim into the Switch last night. I expected some gigantic extra install, but... it just played right off the cart. Wow. I did a few quests and am just beyond impressed at how this game runs on Switch. Also, I still love Skyrim so so much. I just kept thinking that I wonder if we'd ever see GTA5 get a Switch port?

I mean Super Mario Party doesn't support it, but after purchasing it is became very obvious why due to how many of the mini-games are designed around using the joycon. There doesn't seem to be that excuse, at least of the top of my head, with Pokemon though O_o

The only thing I can think of is that it's because you have to "throw" the Pokeball Pokemon-GO-style? It still seems a bit silly though. That's a StarFox Zero-level of mechanical contrivance just to use a console gimmick :?

yeah that's my point. I mean, every other Pokemon game has confirmed that the formula works great without any gimmicky motion controls. And this being sort of a remake of Yellow, well Yellow already showed you how to make a great Pokemon game using a dpad and two buttons. So WHY would they not give us the option to play it the same way? Like I said, I'm out. If I get the itch to revisit Yellow I'll just download it from the VC I guess. It's a bummer because this went from one of my more anticipated 2018 games to totally-not-interested.

That really is a bummer! So I have to play it with the joycons or nothing else? I really wanted a revamped version of Yellow but now I'm on the fence. I'll wait and see how reviews are.

Noise, I just started up Dead Cells. I saw your friend invite -- it's been about a month since I fired up my Switch. I updated the game and went through the first stage before my newborn woke up and needed me. So far, looks like it's gonna be a great risk-reward combat system. Great for short spans of time, too! After reading your posts about it, it grabbed my attention!

My guess is that the lack of pro-controller support is entirely due to the new Pokemon GO-style Pokemon capture mechanics. You need to be able to tap the screen in handheld mode, or "throw" the joycon/pokeball controller when playing docked. I think it's a very silly, but very Nintendo move that you can't just have a button to press on the pro controller or otherwise to just override that if you don't wanna play that way. Nintendo really hates letting you play games in ANY other way than what they specifically deem the best way :?

It just bugs me because games like Splatoon 2, Paladins, Breath Of The Wild all have an OPTION to use motion controls, but also an option to not. That's how Pokemon should be as well.
