Interesting thread! Well, I actually started playing game from mid-2014, so there are still many awesome old games I haven't tried yet. This summer, I plan to enjoy:
1/ Mortal Combat series
2/ Star Wars series
3/ The Lord of the Rings
Don't know when I'll finish these games! If you know any great game, recommend me and I'll try later. Thanks!
What are you playing?

Minecraft Unlocked
Re: What are you playing?
Still chugging along through Fallout 3 was planning on exploring and going through the base missions a little bit more before going into the DLC, but I bumped into the Operation Anchorage guys so I went ahead and decided to play it again while I was there. In my past play throughs Anchorage was the only DLC I ever got around to and I remember it being bad, but man it has only gotten worse with age. Basically with the simulation scenario they stripped down a lot of what made the game fun, added in elements you would expect to see in a Call of Duty game, and made some really bland open environments. They also put an emphasis on fighting along side AI companions which strips away most of the difficulty and only manages to take away from the experience. Really can't wait to be through with it seems to be dragging on a lot longer then I remember it being

Now that sounds interesting, I hope they base it off the 90's batman shows version of her(which is sad because I think that is the only version of her i really know at this point, once i make it up to that point in the comics I'm going to rewatch the shows while reading the comics since I think they're on netflix right now).
I'm starting to think WB Games Montreal should have developed Arkham Knight
http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/06/ba ... atgirl-dlc
"Barbara Gordon has played a supporting role in Rocksteady Studios’ Arkham trilogy as Oracle, using her computer expertise to aid Batman in his battle against evil. But she’s getting her turn in the cape and cowl as Batgirl in a downloadable story expansion for Batman: Arkham Knight. Set before the events of 2009’s Arkham Asylum, “Batgirl: A Matter of Family” sees our heroine team up with Robin to save her father, Commissioner Gordon, who’s been kidnapped by the Joker.
Created by Arkham Origins’ developer WB Games Montreal, the DLC takes place in an entirely new area called the Seagate Amusement Park, a nautical theme park built on top of an oil rig that the Joker has rigged to be a massive death trap. “We wanted to recreate the feeling of being trapped in a bizarre and unique open environment playing a game of cat and mouse with the Joker,” says design producer Justin Vazquez.
Batgirl’s combat style is a combination of the Dark Knight’s brawn and her own computer-genius brain, as she uses her hacking abilities to take down enemies, control objects, and solve puzzles. “Hacking is really what separates her from the other characters. It’s a gameplay mechanic with which the player can create situations for Batgirl to really shine,” Vazquez says. “Our intention was that Batgirl should be less powerful than Batman, but that Batgirl plus hacking could give her opportunities do things that not even Batman can pull off.”
The expansion incorporates Arkham Knight’s Dual Play system that allows the player to switch characters at the press of a button, and culminates in an epic tag-team throwdown between Batgirl and Robin and the Joker and Harley Quinn. “Seeing these four iconic characters together at the same time will be a real thrill,” Vazquez says. And for the first time in the Arkham series, Harley will be sporting her trademark black and red ensemble from Batman: The Animated Series.
The DLC features side quests, collectibles left behind by the Joker, and Easter eggs for hardcore DC Comics fans. “[It’s] a love letter to the original game that started this incredible franchise,” Vazquez says. “Batgirl: A Matter of Family” launches July 14 for Arkham Knight DLC season-pass holders (PS4 and Xbox One, $40), or it can be purchased separately on July 21 for $6.99."
Best part? NO BATMOBILE

Re: What are you playing?
So, I downloaded a particular game for a coworker of mine, so he could stop playing the terrible 32X version of it. Yes, I'm talking about Doom.
Thing is, I'm actually giving it a shot. I've actually enjoyed it a lot so far. It's a simple game, sure, but it's put together well. And I can totally see the influence that the game had on Descent. Right down to the blasted monster closets. I'm on mission 13 (so the second episode), and I'm pretty much sitting in front of the exit, but probably going to explore a little more to see what I can find.
I'll make sure to chronicle this one for the Summer Games Challenge if I end up finishing it!

You've never beat Doom?!

You should take care of that pronto and let us never speak of this again.

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: What are you playing?
I was a bit of a prude gaming-wise at that point. I didn't want to play anything with blood and guts. Plus, you know I'm not exactly a huge FPS fan!
(Still, I've beaten both Descent and Dark Forces, so it's not like I won't play them!)

Doom is gorey, but in a very pixelated, not-particularly-detailed way. Very fake-gorey.

It was horrific for when it came out.
Do they even make gorey games these days? Seems like the PG13 goreless violence trend in movies has taken foot in games since last gen.

Also Mortal Kombat

Prey, Condemned, The Darkness, The Evil Within, Deadly Premonition, Silent Hill Series, and the list goes on and on gore never really left we just got more accustomed to it.
I still feel the most disturbing game I have ever played is Harvester(1996) though the fact that I finished that game still slightly disgusts me. I can only imagine what the public reaction would be like if that game were remade with modern tech.
