...and with his eyes open. As we all know, if you can't 1CC a shmup blind, deaf and one-handed like Tommy the Pinball Wizard, you haven't really beaten the game.Exhuminator wrote:He probably beat it using both hands.

Why is Gradius III not on this list? I thought that was kind of a quintessential shmup for SNES?
I feel like the past 24 hours my world has been shattered. I don't know if I enjoy shmups anymore. I won't ever visit my favorite arcade again and get satisfaction from playing Raiden Fighters or Raiden II, because I won't be able to 1CC them.
I feel like a Polar Bear floating out into the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, sitting on the last small and melting iceberg left in the world.

In all seriousness, the slowdown in the SNES port is probably a big part of the reason why.Blu wrote:Why is Gradius III not on this list? I thought that was kind of a quintessential shmup for SNES?

That slowdown is the only reason why I am able to live through some of the later stages.
I can't dodge the pink bullets. How you all have the reflexes and motor skills to navigate a gap of less than one centimeter through a sea of lasers and bullets is something awesome.
For me, I guess I'll stick to playing games that lack anything remotely tied to skill (Turn based RPG's, even Action RPGs are too "high-speed"), my shameful tears, being able to run a sub six minute mile, and kicking soccer balls to people who then kick them into the net.
WHO WANTS MY COLLECTION!?
