Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Dude, my steel toe boots alone weight ten pounds.

Now stop trying to get my clothes off!

Yeah, I just heard about this. I guess that CBS must've bust out the checkbook to get Patrick Steward back on board. He had previously passed on the idea. In the press conference, he said something about how we need idealism again in today's world. I mean... he's not wrong; he just sounds preposterous when he says that's the reason that he came back on board.

 I really want to stay friends with people, but the fact that literally no one ever contacts me first just pisses me off. They always say "Well nobody invites me out"- which is either a bold faced lie (I have you on social media- I see you out with friends) or they should completely understand why I'm pissed off.

Ack wrote:Third, if you are serious about joining the armed forces, consider what your MOS will be and whether you would find a better fit in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines. What do you want to do? Infantry? Artillery? Armor? Logistics? There is a wide variety of options available. Also, if you have a college degree or aren't a total fuckup, you may be a potential candidate for OCS. Officers get better pay but more responsibility. You should also consider whether the Coast Guard is a viable option for you.

I'm mainly thinking about Infantry at the moment but I really need to talk with a recruiter and research all my options. I do have a bachelor's degree in criminal justice legal studies with an accidental minor in history(probably had one in English to but could never get confirmation on what the requirements were from that department) , but I don't really have much interest in being an officer.

Also, if you're snacking, start swapping out for healthier snacks, like almonds or fruit instead of sweets.

I swapped over to low sodium V8 pretty fast it's kind of surprising how much sodium is in original by comparison. As for other drinks I've been mainly sticking to water as well as diet V8 Splash and Diet Cranberry Juice both of which are sub 1g of sugar and 5 calories per serving. Was kind of surprised by the Great Value Diet Cranberry Juice actually tastes pretty good and it's actually really cheap probably because it's just really watered down cranberry juice but it's still good  .

For snacks I've mostly been sticking to unsalted mixed nuts, carrots w/ nonfat ranch, string cheese, and various fruits(bananas, frozen blueberries, etc.) they had a bunch of special K protein meal bars with beat to hell boxes on clearance at Walmart so I picked up a good supply of those as well. For breakfast I've swapped over to just a bowl of original Fiber One which is surprisingly good when you aren't eating a ton of carbs and crave them, and pretty much takes care of my fiber needs.

:D Ordered a 2TB hard drive for my PS4, since I've already filled my 1TB external hard drive. Though once I get a 2TB hard drive in my PS4 I'm totally using my 1TB hard drive on my PC and/or Raspberry Pi.

:) : Diet is going pretty well losing about 1lb a day although it's probably mostly water weight. Down to 290 from 305.

 : Plans for leaving my job have kind of expanded. Now I'm thinking about thru hiking the Appalachian Trail before joining the military. Love hiking and I've always wanted to do a long distance plus now is probably the best chance I would have at it got around 4 grand squirreled away, all my debts are paid off, and I don't have a house/apartment or any relationships to tie me down. Have some equipment already but I need to check out some better packs and lightweight tents and get a few smaller things. Also have a time frame since my brother is getting married next year and I'd either have to start immediately or wait till after the wedding which is about half a year out. Anyways got the week off so I'm going to plan it out, do some window shopping at Cabela's and probably buy stuff on Amazon  , and do some full day hikes at the nearby State Forest to test stuff out. Was planning to do 3-4 days of camping but they charge $35 a night to sleep in your own tent without electricity and camping is prohibited outside of the camp grounds + they tow after 10pm if you leave your car parked according to the signs :P.
