Metroid Fusion was incredibly linear I agree. I was thinking that Other M reminded me of Fusion. And then I read this:
"Yoshio Sakamoto said that Other M's story progression was in the same manner as Metroid Fusion"
"main design was done by three designers from the Game Boy Advance titles of the series, Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Zero Mission."
Those two quotes come from the game's Wikipedia page, but both have credible sources cited. With that information known, the Fusion feel makes perfect sense.
Also:
" If you think about this one as being maybe similar to Metroid Fusion, then I think you'll have an idea of how the story will play out." -Sakamoto http://www.webcitation.org/6XHUaj6Wi
I still thought there was enough exploration and poking around for powerups that Other M was quite fun.
As for the story stuff... some was a little silly, but my friend swears up and down that it captures PTSD absolutely perfectly. I'm inclined to believe him.
So I played a ton of Bayonetta 2 yesterday. I have to say, the game is pretty darn awesome. It's obviously a "hide the kids / don't play around the parents" game, though.
Anyway, everything seems even smoother than it did with the first game, and it feels like there's a bit more exploration this time around as well. And it's so ridiculously over the top that any potential offenses are hard to take seriously... which was clearly the goal of the designers.
I'm not even going to say it looks good "for a Wii U" game. It looks good, period. And I'm having tons of fun trying out all the weapons they let you use. If you've got a Wii U, and like DMC-style action games, you should already own this game. And if you don't, well, get crackin'!
(Oh, right. I'm playing on normal difficulty, and so far, my skills have held up. I've managed to avoid using any items at all so far, and I'm at Chapter XI.)

I haven't reached that part of the story yet, but I've read about it. The PTSD stuff is only one aspect of Sakamoto's Other M story. There are other aspects I have encountered that I found less than appealing though. I'll talk about those aspects when I finish the game. The gameplay itself however is reasonably fun so far.
Terminator for the Sega CD is just a fun game. Probably only a somewhat above average action side-scroller, but "dat music" lifts it over the top.
EDIT: I'm stunned at how well this follows the movie. At first you're just running around in the future wasteland like in the flashbacks from the movies. That lasts a ho-hum handful of levels, but then you get to jump through the time portal, fight through the city, then enter the Tech-Noir club. I thought it would just be a ramshackle bunch of generic levels, and don't get me wrong the enemies and backdrops aren't anything special, but they put some real effort in here. The part where you enter the same portal as the Terminator was only mentioned briefly in the movie for example.

As much as I dislike Arkham Knight, they did sucker me into getting the season pass so I guess I'll try out the Batgirl DLC next week since I've already paid for it. The trailer actually looks good, so I'm cautiously optimistic
@Gamerforlife besides the horrid pc version and some of the obvious plot points(if you know any batman lore) how anyone could think this game is bad...(I have some qualms with certain parts but I think that's more not being used to modern games as much as say a older handheld game...)

Not that's it's bad, but the series set a high standard and I think Arkham Knight falls short of it. I also think we all expected it to blow Origins out of the water...and yet it actually made Origins look better in hindsight. No obnoxious Batmobile in Origins, and much better boss fights (Arkham Knight's boss fights range from disappointing to all out frustrating). Plus Arkham Knight even steals a few things from Origins, like the rewind footage detective stuff.
I don't know what is more embarrassing, the bad boss battles or the really terrible Batmobile races and tank based sections. I mean we're talking seriously amateurish work in those areas.
Rocksteady's showing some kinks in the armor with this game. They're not a can't do wrong developer in my eyes anymore. And I am not quite as excited now for whatever their next project is.

Well to be honest origins stole it from City and improved on it(which I loved that part in Origins and loved Origins which is odd since it seems most hate it, and my only qualm to be honest is how the joker looked compared to what I've become accustomed too)

Now that sounds interesting, I hope they base it off the 90's batman shows version of her(which is sad because I think that is the only version of her i really know at this point, once i make it up to that point in the comics I'm going to rewatch the shows while reading the comics since I think they're on netflix right now).
