The Direct maybe leaked more NES games... Gradius, River City Ransom, Double Dragon, Ghosts N Goblins... Was Metroid already announced?

Those NES controllers look nice too.

Yeah they do look nice, not sure I could pop down for $30/ea on them. I do have that kind of a pain in the butt 8bitdo FC30 controller, basically sorta like the NES top loader controller in form so I'll stick to that if I don't just use the pro controller I have.

Now nothing was leaked, look here or I'll make some of it easy for you with a paste. There are +3 games by month (Oct-Dec) listed already which includes even import game Twinbee!

That's a great lineup! Dude, there was already "too many" games coming out this year and now we're getting a pile of NES games dropped in our laps. It's awesome and overwhelming. :D

Ugh I'm still obsessed w/ Dead Cells. I beat Conjuctivitus for the first time last night and it was intense. Sadly, I died quickly in the next level so I still don't have the Spider Rune yet.

EDIT:

Okay, so at least with Crystal Chronicles it's been confirmed eShop only in the US. Europe is probably the same, as it was only announced physically in Japan. Personally, I'll probably import the physical copy like I did with Okami (and plan to do with Seiken Densetsu and Kunio-kun collections).

And I guess the Japanese Direct showed off a bunch of indie games... Nidhogg 2, Downwell, Ibb & Obb (aka: "Bubble Bobble: The Indie Game"), etc.

Cities: Skylines was the announcement where I literally yelled "Oh my God!" outloud while watching. However, I feel like that game HAS to get a physical release, so I'm not going to rush to download it right away.

Apparently Nintendo has just filed for another Golden Sun trademark! :O

Damn. As bombarded w/ new releases and new ports of awesome games as I feel right now... 2019 might be even more insane!

Yeah I can't keep up with the Switch...

Kind of a bummer these NES games require a subscription, rather than being just straight downloads.

I mean yeah... but $20 a year for the subscription. I imagine $20 might have bought you 2-4 games if they were straight downloads. So I can see it both ways.

Yeah I get the price thing. I'd be more worried about longevity. What happens when the service is inevitably discontinued?

I mean I totally get it. I do. But at the same time, I'm paying way more for Netflix every month and I'm never thinking "oh shit, what's going to happen to Parks & Rec if Netflix service ends?" Y'know? I mean I totally agree that it would be preferable if I could just buy physical Switch collections of NES games.... but it's so cheap for this service that I just kinda shrug.

I will pay $50 for that. I dont even like the game that much, but FF7 and FF9 on a NES console is too awesome to say no to for those old PSX vs N64 debates. Being that these are based on the PS4/PC ports of recent years, that is why FF8 is not present. It also means we may get them in the $15-20 range digitally, and around $30 physically (based on the PC/PSN prices and the uptick precedent by Rocket League).

Despite owning a Battle Circuit PCB, I am in for the Capcom Beatemup bundle sometime in the future. It and Armored Warriors are up there in my favorite beatemups.

Smash and Pokemon are must buys, Starlink is a pending how much does it cost in real money to get all the parts in game (not the toy version).

I am still not sold on online, but that my change in a few weeks.
