YES that's bad news! I've been clutching to AIM for years now. I guess I'll have to find some other IM client.

Hi there! We wanted to let you know that AIM will be going away on December 15, 2017. Until then, you can continue to use AIM normally, but as of December 15, AIM will be discontinued and you will no longer have access.

Dude, ready to have your mind blown?

Service is being shut down the same day The Last Jedi comes out. Which means your meme has stumbled upon the fact that the events of The Last Jedi involve Luke and Rei having to destroy the AIM servers to stop the First Order.

Pissed at the moment, see how it goes.

My SP got broken, went looking days ago and found a steal of a price on a Pearl Blue 101 that appeared to be spotless. And you know, I was right, it was, but it arrived in two pieces. Not sure but can guess how as the box wasn't jacked up. Inside they folded a few manauls between the top/bottom and while wrapped in bubble wrap it was braced against 2 GBC titles inside a zip bag and below that was 2 of 3 airbags blown out. Must have been one hell of a drop just right to not foul the cardboard but jack up the contents.

I was able to lace the screen ribbon back into the base, works like a charm -- in two pieces. Sent a return/refund case on it and supplied a couple pics. Waiting to hear back. If they just say screw it and keep the thing I'm going to attempt to rescue it with a replacement shell. I was so looking forward to tooling around with GBA today.

Yeah, if nothing else is broken, a replacement case will fix it right up.

Oh I agree. The person either is trying to make sure I'm not up to something or they're a bit daft.

I already had to send a rear pic (fair game for serial) but then they wanted another that was vertical with the break and buttons real clean so I did a big shot with the phone and sent that. Then despite that they asked me a bit ago if it was entirely detached. Well hmm you think? :)

I'd like to either get a refund or send it back, preferably a refund but I could see either way as they did send DKCountry +manual GBC, GBC Pac-Man SE, and GBA shrek superslam with manual along with some other papers. Not sure what they'll end up doing.

I found a replacement same shell for $15 shipped which is fine and has various other parts and some nice new screwdrivers too with it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/GBA-SP-Replacem ... 2325897879

If not that there's a cool NES style or triforce gold style knockoff too. Got to love the Chinese, Nintendo shuts the line down, and they reopen it back up for cheap spares.

Ultimately I had to send 3 pictures, and even then had another question if it was in 1 piece or 2. An hour or so later I get this long diatribe in ebay mail off the case of the guy accusing me of switching out GBAs that they're not the same due to little marks supposedly that differ. I get the run down for being a horrible person trying to scam and steal $60 from the seller and what kind of horrible person would do that. ....REALLY...!

They took care to package it but did it poorly. The airbags were popped, only one wrap of bubble wrap around the system which was in a zip bag. The killer blow, they stuck the manuals/papers (1/4in thick worth) inside the GBA hinge. It's not hard to figure out it took a hard throw that didn't bust the box but popped the bubble bags and the impact with the manuals in the system fold stressed it to pop.

They're claiming that they baited me sending enough pictures with more they didn't post they took to confirm I sent another system and not the one they did. Pretty sneaky and sleazy trying to play that crap. They said they called ebay before contacting me and said they agreed I was up to something. I almost wrote them a message back but thought better to call too, then got escalated over it. They looked at the same pics and agree you can't just swap the units let alone the serial number stickers off totally clean to play a switch. I now am stuck having to call back next Friday to get a return sticker so I can eventually get a refund. I'm sure they'll(seller) try and fight me getting paid with the department they'll get stuck with on damaged goods and I wouldn't blame them but I'm not eating this because it was incompetently packaged.

 LAID off from Nino's!

:) Still have my other job at The Point, and they pay weekly and I have the option of working doubles, which gets me an extra 5-6 hours, on top of 5-5.5 hours working lunches. Except for Mondays when they're closed for dinner.

So one thing about AIM is that you could send SMS text messages to a cell phone. What other IM clients can do this?
