Questionable weather be damned, I went out today. I couldn't do my usual restock today, so I quickly ran downtown where I can get 5-8 stops depending on how far I want to walk.
As you can see, Valor rules the city and that was awesome. I was able to put Pokémon in *4* Valor gyms with absolutely no training needed in this area, so I got on that. (I was only able to get 3 pics, as the 4th was a real impulse)
After I was satisfied with my items, I got out of the city and back home, but of course the flagpole gym was on the way, and it was Mystic's at Level 3. I wiped it out because 2 of the 3 Pokémon were under 1500CP. After that, I put my legendary Exeggutor in (which I found out, successfully won a defensive battle sometime last week). At that time, one of my gyms fell, so instead of 5, I had to take a 4 gym defense bonus.
I was about to leave, when another vehicle pulled up beside me. I was expecting a fast takedown of my newly acquired gym because I know it's a hot location where all 3 teams continuously fight for control, but instead of dust clouds and lightning, I saw a Chansey in there. I said, "Hey, it's Valor!" and then I got to talking to them (there were 3 in the vehicle) and I said "I was expecting a fight!" and I was relieved to find fellow Valor-eans in the field at this gym. I passed along the tip to increase prestige quickly (use Pokémon with half the CP of the one you're fighting for 500 or more prestige) and as we were talking the last spot was being trained up for a good Level 4 Valor gym. My favorite part by far of this game has been all the interactions with fellow Valor teammates. It was fun! Here now, was our Level 4 lineup -
To the 2000+ CP Vaporeon, I asked if it had Hydro Pump, it did! So I predicted we'd keep the gym for at least a couple hours. I wasn't too far off, we had it for more like 3 hours. By this time, the gyms in the city also fell, so I'm glad I got the quad bonus.
More resupplies this weekend; I'm only down to 5 revives, but tons of potions.
