You've never selected a single game. It's been:
7p-830 - game 1
830-10 - game 2
10-??? - game 3, or go back to game 1.

You've never given a concrete list of 6/8/10 titles you'd like to focus on so others can buy them all. You are right - I am repeating myself, but you're not doing the things i've suggested.

1. Pick a game list, post it, give us a few weeks to buy them.
2. One game per week.
3. Do it the same night each week.
4. Have your friends create accounts, post up, become known. No one cares about playing your friends if we don't know them. I specifically said guys should be on their own logins so we can figure out technique and have a vested interest. You said they all had their own logins and we'd know who we are fighting. When we played Vampire the following week...you said I was playing 5 different guys and that's why the skill and technique was different each time. Something I specifically said I don't want to do and you assured me wouldn't happen. If you'll notice - that's the last time i've logged in for one of these. Honestly, if you have 5 dudes at yr house to play games - I have no idea why you're logging online to fight randoms or guys on RB. The whole thing is odd. So one of you is online fighting a guy none of you know, and the other 4 are watching. The whole thing is just weird. If it were porn, i'd guess I could sorta understand, but not this.
5. Ditch stream, or post a link if it's up and running. The diary of getting it up and running and the headaches each week is laughable. Go read the other thread that was successful until noise decided he couldn't commit to it any longer. It was leadup during the week about the game, and then conversation between members the night of. It was good stuff. This thread is twitch stream chat buffalo weather updates to the point everyone else has just abandoned it altogether.
6. tl;dr - start over and cut the fat.

Finally a less fragmented response! :D ...I appreciate it!

I now understand MUCH better what you are trying to say, and TBH agree with a lot of it. I'll try reciprocate my thoughts and hopefully and finally provide clarity and a way to start cutting fat.

Okay so:

S) Run with one single game for a few weeks, rather than going with 3 a night etc.
A) This was a suggestion from the very start, and I decided to try the multiple games thing in order to get a great number of initial players from this board interested. My logic was:
- You guys seemed to only want to play for a limited times (so say we'd have no one else to play in 3S after an hour or so), and then there'd be another dude or two from RB on at 1030 wanting to play SF4, so I figured "why not?" it's not like the 3S guys are gonna comeback and play more.
- at the beginning there were requests from interested parties to play different games in the same night, which gave me the idea to divide the time as such.
- It was only ever meant to be a trial thing until we had established games that we knew people would show for to dedicate whole nights to.

Solution: Sure, I am totally fine with single games. The only thing I lack confidence in is getting anyone to show for a non-SF related title, but we can at least hope for better moving forward.

S) Pick a game list and give people time to buy them/learn them.
A) I am skeptical that this request will pan out, but I like the idea of it.

Solution: I will just take the top 6 games and we'll preordain a rotation schedule for them.

S) Do it on the same night/times each week
A) Sure, I have no issues with that whatsoever. I initiated the variation trying to please too many people here on RB who had different availability and that basically blew up in my face since they never showed anyways (most of the time).

Solution: I'm totally all for one night to rule them all.

S) So many dudes on one account is confusing, unneeded, bizarre etc.
A) Sigh, I get your point on wanting to get to know people playing on their own handles. But there are other points of this plan you overlook or simply don't care about, which is fine and you're entitled to your own opinion on it.
I'll try to explain again how this benefits me (and my players) and why I am doing it this way. Do you mind if I take you through some tl;dr thoughts? Thanks man, I knew you'd be cool with it.
- I initially wanted to just play some retro dudes on this board in fighters, because I saw in past threads that they occasionally did this type of thing and I absolutely love playing FGs etc. etc. When interest was only a small handful here, I was like "okay, how can I spice this up and keep myself entertained?" and came up with the idea to invite some of my newer local players to get them more involved in some online FG play.
- To do this RB Fight Night also, would be sacrificing one of normal local fight nights ANYWAYS (which I don't mind btw!). So why not gather my dude who'd be coming to practice normally and have them fight against randoms and new match ups, or play games they might not otherwise play if they were in the group and everyone else did. It seemed like a great opportunity to merge two of my interests into one and frankly seemed harmless in concept.
- The original idea from there was to have them bring their own consoles to the venue and log on individually so we could all use the baller connection and have a big lobby.... What ended up being the case is that almost no one had the same games, DLC, patches or versions of shit they needed, but still wanted to gather and play. The solution there was create my community account and use it on whoever had the best versions of whatever game we played's console....
- YES, I now see it was kind of annoying to play varying skill levels from one account and not really knowing or being able to prepare for who'd be up next... but that is really why I was pushing the stream chat (or ANY chat) to let ppl know who is playing and if you wanted a runback etc... and the idea never really panned out.
Ok, so yea, the experiment failed.... was it really that "bizarre"? I don't think so. But I will take steps to undo this confusion, since you are the only one who cares enough to comment on it. But that is how this all developed and I can see how you'd think it's messy without enough clean context.

Solution: Guys will log on their own consoles and if they don't got the game/DLC needed, then they sit out. I think they will all still wanna gather, because we all like hanging out and talking shit and that will never change.
Also if registration ever opens on this board again (what is the deal with that right now? still closed?), some of them are willing to make accounts and support this thread with bumps and convo.

S) Kill the stream and all it's annoying problems.
A) Yea, it has fucking sucked so far, and I take full responsibility for pushing it and posting about the annoyances.

Solution: I will lay off promoting the fact that it is ever up until it is up and running the way I want it and actually useful/fun to partake in...which may be never.

tl;dr- shit will change. drastically.

Thanks for the continued advice, I'll get it straight soon.

If anyone else happens by the thread, please man... drop bombs on me, I'm pretty hard to offend and really open to suggestion! I just wanna get more people here playing games!

Ok, weird. I'm not used to someone reacting so open-mindedly to criticism on the internet.

I agree w/ all of Mike's points. So I like that you're willing to try some other things. So yeah, if it were the same night every week (Thurs is no good for me), and it was one game all night so I could pop in when it was good for me, then I'd be much more likely to show up consistently and even purchase any of the games I might not have.

If I knew I was going to be fighting against four, five, six Racketboy members rather than a dozen strangers all using the same name, that would give me even more incentive.

Would've been on last Tuesday, but I actually came out of isolation, met up with some old heads who live here in my area, and played offline for once in my life! Might become a regular Tuesday night thing for me.

I really feel like there has to be some way for all of us to communicate while playing, because not all of us have headsets and PSN chat sucks. Plus, I need a place to type dingalings.

And even though I've probably done it before, I'll just list again (in order of interest):

Online Viable Games I Have
SSFIV:AE
ST:HDR
VF5
P4A
BB:CSE
Skullgirls Encore
MK9 (Dunno what the online is like on this, never played it)
Divekick (Steam)

Games I'd Be Willing To Buy
GGXXAC (+R when they get around to updating the PSN ver.)
Darkstalkers
3S:OE
SCV
TTT2
SFxT

I've had a hankering to play Injustice ever since I bought several more sticks from that stick sale and saw they balanced a bunch of shit I hated about certain characters (especially online). The netcode is still barely tolerable, but I am willing to give it a go. MK9 is largely dead in my region, hard to get motivated to add that, but I think Injustice could crack the line up since it's an Evo game (aka still relevant to a largeish group) still and all that jazz.

And I'm going to be honest about BB CP.. The online is probably the worst of any ASW game aside from GG AC +R.. IT's still good overall but when you add that to the fact that there are lots of gimmicks, I'm not sure anyone here wants to play it.. I do but only because I want to support ASW... Haven't played lately due to waiting for the patch and US release..

Reg has been open for the last month. Spam bot attacks resolved, for now.
