So between those two and any others you guys think I might like, what would you recommend I look at spending my moneez on?
Both are good choices. I don't think you could go wrong with either one, honestly. I already have all of Champloo and I've been thinking about picking up the new Trigun box set. Actually, there are a lot of box sets I've been thinking about picking up lately. Glad companies are going more in that direction lately. It's definitely a lot easier to pick up the sets than it was to pick up the individual disks

I'm simultaneously watching Dragon Ball Z (after having seen all of the original Dragon Ball), Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Cardcaptor Sakura. DBZ is what I watch when I'm waking up in the morning, with a cup of coffee. It's nothing great, but it's lightweight fun with Japanese audio. FMA and CCS are both totally fantastic series though.

I'm going to have to disagree with other members about how great Trigun and Samurai Champloo are. While Trigun has some cool elements, I don't think I've ever met anyone who likes the entire series. Most folks tend to either prefer the wacky first half or serious second half. And the animation quality does not stand up as being particularly good looking.
Samurai Champloo I only saw recently, but I think the series could have done better if it was only 13 episodes long. Many episodes feel repetitive (how many of those episodes were about women getting kidnapped or forced into prostitution?) and the characters were not developed as deeply as, say Cowboy Bebop.

Maybe instead I could suggest Gurren Lagann (high-action AWESOME MANLY SUPER-ROBOTS), Fullmetal Alchemist (both series are just amazing) or Revolutionary Girl Utena (sexually transgressive shoujo action).

I'm a big fan of Japanese DBZ. Don't skimp out on Dragon Ball if you have though, it's great stuff.

I'm kinda interested in watching some anime. I'm kinda embarrased about it. I'm looking into starting, but I have no ideas where to start. I want to get into it kinda slowly. I watched part of Steamboy once, and it was pretty interesting. It's been a couple of years, and that has been the only real anime I've ever watched. For now, I want to avoid any subtitle heavy movies, giant robots, any humor I won't get, and things that are overly Japanese. I want to ease into it, not jump in....
Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360

WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

Well... for starters, what kind of theme's and settings do you think you would like? And what kind of genre's?

I was going to mention it as well.

It's got a strong western vibe in its overall tone so you won't have to worry about it feeling 'overly japanese' and the english dub is VERY solid. Plus, it's a downright classic that you'll probably want to watch sooner or later anyhow.

Ditto to all the above on Cowboy Bebop.

That's pretty much where I started with Anime (not counting watching Gundam and Dragonball as a kid).

It's just a damn good series in general.

Yup, Bebop is as newb friendly as it gets and is probably my favorite anime of all time. Also try Gunsmith Cats and Record of Lodoss War
