What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Tried doing a full uninstall first, just in case something left over is causing the problem? If a full Windows reinstall fixed it, then that might be likely - or maybe some settings are incompatible.

Only time I've had an odd issue like that with drivers was way back with I think a GeForce 6800. At some point, drivers stopped installing saying they didn't support the card, even though they were supposed to (it'd even tell me there was a new driver). Turned out, I guess due to it being an early production card, that the identifier string in the firmware was pre-release. nVidia had phased it out of the driver, despite the model itself still being supported...thankfully, I was able to find the stock release firmware and flash it.

Older drivers tend to still be fine outside of new release games though. Even then, they should work, they just tend to roll in optimizations.

A full Windows reinstall made Windows work again (on a new hard drive), but whenever I install any software related to the GPU, whether I even have the card installed in the machine or not, the computer just will not boot. It gets to the Windows logo, stalls for a couple seconds, then blue-screens. What do you mean though by a full uninstall? A full uninstall of the GPU's software immediately after I install it?

But I wanna play Yooka-Laylee and I already own it for Steam because of the Kickstarter

Oh, no, I was assuming that things worked until you started trying to update the driver.

:) Finally found out my favorite NPC Yakuza character lived into the second game! I didn't think he'd died, but it was kind of ambiguous, and I'm fairly sure the other guy who did a similar non-death actually is dead. That guy was lame though, so I'm fine if he's never seen again :P

Smiled - Bought an Instax Wide camera to replace my SX70 after the last batch of Impossible Project film took an hour to develop. It arrives today, and I am shooting a wedding with it this weekend. Wide can be shot in a Polaroid 600se with no modification to the back, so the big guy might be coming back into use.

Ticked - Today Fuji announced a 6x6 version of the Instax coming out next month. 6x6 film means TLR conversions are possible. As much as like the 6x10 format for the Wide, I am a TLR fan.

:) Last big jump besides finals over. No idea how I did on my project, but knowing it is done has released most of my school stress, besides my scheduling issues.

:( Feelings elsewhere still all kinds of screwed up.

Last week I worked a ton of hours so my paycheck was pretty big(ish), so:

:) Bought an AC adapter for my Pi, so now it'll get enough power. Maybe it'll also better run N64 emulators, run arcade games at full-speed, and possibly handle select Dreamcast and PSP games. Though considering how well it does with PS1 emulation (literally every game I've tried runs flawlessly), I've gotten quite a lot of PS1 games (around 5-7GB on my microSD card, to the point I might have to upgrade the card to a 64GB card, assuming it can handle it).

:D Got a wireless mouse for my Pi (RTS games and SCUMMVM) and my laptop (RTS and FPS games that work better with a real mouse and NOT some trackpad bullshit).

:D Took a ride to Buxton yesterday. Snagged a few books from the thrift store (about 9 books for less than $3), a hardback and a Pop Art-themed adult coloring book from the Dollar General (both for $5 altogether) and a Powerball ticket (didn't win  ).

:D Got my Netflix turned back on. Watched the film "Hurricane Bianca", a few eps of The Twilight Zone (original), and the first episode of "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events". And got the original "Alien" on Blu-Ray from their DVD service (yes, they STILL have that!).

Also:

:D Sonic: Time Twisted is out!!! One of the few completed Sonic fan films, in development for over a decade, is finally out. Complete!! Not a demo!! CHECK IT OUT!!

:? Found out the girl who likes creepy stuff and video games already has a boyfriend, so that was a little disappointing. I don't have anyone else at college who likes to play video games really, so it's very nice to have a friend who does regardless, especially because she'll be around taking classes over the summer too :)

:D Took my bio exam this morning and did really well. Then I hung out with my bestie until our speaking exam for Japanese class, which turned out to be a lot more fun than I thought it would be! Then we went back to her place and I helped her clean up her apartment to start moving out of there over this weekend, which was also fun because I never get to spend enough time with her :3 . She also invited me to a DND campaign she's planning for the fall, which I'm super psyched for! Tearii the goblin shall bring pain to his enemies!
