I just realized if I move to a second shift, I'd be able to hang out Friday nights again. I currently work T-S, but on Saturday I have to be at work for an early shift starting at 6:15am. So it's made Friday hanging out kind of impossible, I just can't go with little sleep personally, and it messes with me a little to have a different scheduled day like that (the other days are a normal 8:00am start). Most of my friends have been cool about it and I still get a lot of hang out time on Saturday's, but I still miss some things on Friday's.

I like being a morning person thesedays and being up as long as I can when the sun is out... but this is becoming tempting. The second shift is a smaller team so it's quiet which would probably be kind of nice. It would only be a few hours of different from what I'm doing now and not a huge adjustment. On top of a 10% difference which comes out bigger than I expected and then they do more stuff that would speed up my potential jump from a tech 2 to a tech 3 which is another pay bump. So kind of seems like a lot of positives now...

Only weird thing I don't like is that I think if they call overtime for the day you have to make it up and come in earlier than your shift start, kind of weird. So I assume a supervisor has to have your number on call and that just seems annoying to me.

I think it would be 10-6:30 or 12-8:30. I think I'd still have to do T-Sat and Saturday might be the earlier 10-6:30 or something.

Hmmmm...

It's official, my old GPU is totally buggered. Did everything I could this morning to try and make it work, and it just crashes the OS without fail every single time I try and install any software for it. It was having trouble installing stuff before the last harddrive died, but that must've been the last straw :?

Smile: Easter Weekend with family, Saturday once a week Car Show and the Red Bull Air Races returns from 2009 at the bay. I had the prime spot back then, took my boat out for the best view. In addition to the normal naval jet flying by, now seeing a lot of the stunt planes practicing their stuff last few days. 8)

This is the second occasion I've "tried everything" to make it work. I just haven't wanted to before because the last two times I tried to solve it I had to totally reinstall windows onto the computer which took FOREVER. The fan still works, the light on it still lights up, it even still transmits video through it to the monitor.

It's an Nvidia GeForce 580 Ti. The moment I try installing any drivers for it, even just normal Windows updates that just relate to Nvidia, not just the specific drivers (both letting it find the drivers automatically through GeForce Experience as well as manually selecting them myself on the website hasn't worked) it blue-screens as soon as I try to restart it to finish the install. The error code it gives is related to improperly installed drivers, and it's clearly quite a fatal error. I have no idea what else to try, and it's old enough that I'm not too fussed with just buying a new card.

:( Lots of papers and projects to work on this weekend. So much so that I'll have to stay home while some of the other family collects elsewhere for Easter.

:) I don't need to go to the family gathering for Easter! There's been a lot of really annoying and awful family drama going on lately (between both close and distant family), so I'm well glad I have a get-out-of-jail-free card from that nonsense. The last time I saw everyone from that side of the family was in December after the election and I did nooooot have a good time :?

I assume you are installing the most recent driver. This may be fixed by installing an older version of the driver.

Most games just don't run when I don't have the most updated drivers installed though. At least Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm always did that :?
