No discussion of Project M ceasing development? I guess no one here is into competitive. :(

Competitive smash is cool and all, but I prefer real competitive smash. Project M was a fun fan project, but I prefer the real thing.

I've only been able to play PM at tournaments or when people brought it to my school's video game club. I have it, but my Wii broke (hehe) so I can only play it on Wii U, which means I can't use GameCube controllers.
It's nice to finally see DLC characters that aren't just characters from the earlier games. If I were ten I would have loved having Cloud in Smash 4. But then I got into competitive stuff and I just can't play Trash 4 anymore.

Project M isn't real competitive? As opposed to?

I suppose if you were going by number of entrants at tournaments, it does seem to pale in comparison to the others. Project M is first and foremost a competitive game. Imo it just never took off due to the obvious legal issues. Nintendo wouldn't let tournament organizers stream PM online.

On another note, the competitive 64 scene is really cool. Those guys really play for the love of the game. The game has insane hitstun, which makes stringing together long combos more commonplace.

I just mean this. It's not an official Smash Bros. title and it's never been officially endorsed. I don't have anything against Project M in concept.

I was pretty bummed to see PM being shut down. The new DLC characters also seem really awesome, and I'll be buying cloud soon.
