Are you sure you weren't............... dreaming?
Haha, no, I remember quite clearly getting to this point on my tiny television on the cheap metal stand I kept in my bedroom during middle school. I was borrowing quite a few RPGs from a friend around that time, so that was how I played the likes of Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy IV, Lufia 2, Final Fantasy VI, and Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest back then. I would sit on the edge of my bed with my feet dangling in the air and the blinds closed on the windows behind my TV, and I would spend hours like that. My brother Chris would also play the games, and we would watch each other play or fight over who got a turn. In fact, I remember distinctly when I beat Final Fantasy VI and we both watched the credits and cheered and danced around the room at each name that appeared on the screen.

In the Ship's Graveyard. Experimenting with different jobs, building up abilities, trying to grind as much as I can. No idea what levels should be since I haven't played in a while, but beating everyone and the 2 "bosses" so far pretty handily I might say.
Every time I've played FF5, I have always started Bartz as a Knight, Lenna as a White Mage, Galuf as Black Mage, and Faris as either a Thief or Monk.

When I played for the first time last year I went for Bartz as a Blue Mage, Lenna as a Thief, Galuf as a Knight and Faris as a White Mage.

I always make Lenna and Faris the physical jobs. Usually it's Lenna as monk, Faris as Knight, then the other two black and white mage.

Ok you're gonna love what I've done so far. Please note that I've been doing a crazy amount of grinding so far.

Bartz - Level 13 - Started as Monk, picked up Focus & Barehanded, switched to Knight, now has Guard, Cover, & Two-Handed.

Lenna - Level 13 - Started and stayed as White Mage. 33/100 (67 more pts) to totally master the job.

Galuf - Level 13 - Started as Knight, picked up Guard & Cover, switched to Monk , got Focus and Barehanded switched to Thief using Barehanded ability, picked up Find Passages and Sprint (B button 4x as fast on GBA port!), now back to Monk and has Focus, Barehanded and Chakra.

Faris - Level 13 - Started as Thief to get Find Passages, then switched to Black Mage, 22/100 (88 pts) to totally master the job.

This is a radical departure from what I did playing the RPGe translation years ago. To have the ability to cast any Black or White magic later on will be super useful, plus Two-Handed for double damage, Focus to do even more at the cost of a turn, Kick which pretty much kills everything in one move, Sprint to move quickly and much more. Plus, I also forgot Cure can be used as a HARM spell on the undead to do tons of damage. Wow. So many options, I love this! I plan to get everyone to Level 15 or 16 before getting to the end of the graveyard, I'll be totally set up !

Going into a rather busy weekend for me, I've just gotten the elevator parts fixed so I can face Zog! And it's official, I am completely beyond where I got as a kid. Back then, I spent the whole game wondering when Nina would get the ability to transform into a bird and never realized that I was just a few hours away from that point. Well, I've got it now. I proceeded to joyride around the world, digging up those mole holes and opening those weird Dark Dragon doors.

Well, black magic falls off hard midway through the game. You get several other jobs that apply either raw damage or elemental damage much better. White stays decent, though it can be replaced with a few blue magics if you know what you're doing.

It's been such a long time since I last played it and I know there's tons of other classes such as the Summoner that will do lots of damage. There's also *4* new classes exclusive to FFV Advance so yeah, I'll be stocking up on as many Abilities as I can.

For some odd reason, I never really anything like Chemist, and barely use the Blue Mage. Maybe next time I play through the game, I'll use some variety.
