I don't know if it really counts as an RPG or not, but let's just say it does, I'm playing Spirit Tracks. Got about 5 hours in it so far, working on getting to the Ocean Temple at this point. Compared to Phantom Hourglass, this game is definitely an improvement in multiple ways. I'd say the best improvement is that the puzzles are more ingenious and challenging. Then there's the TRAIN which has always been the point of contention for folks playing this game. I certainly don't hate it, but without question Nintendo could have utilized the train travel in a way that is less tedious and more engaging. I won't say they dropped the ball on it, but there's some fumbling going on. Good game so far though, really nice OST too, and that jovial atmosphere proper Nintendo games exude.

No....that doesn't count XD it's a action adventure game which doesn't really feature any rpg elements...great game though

I guess only Zelda II would count as an RPG then, considering you actually get experience points and raise levels and such.

Yeah, zelda 2 is the only rpg out of the series. I always screwed that up when I first heard about the rpg genre because zelda felt very much like a 3d rpg but no it's action adventure which I still consider a close cousin to rpg's

Just died to Neo Exdeath with my Berserker Dancer Monk Ninja natural party. I'd killed the front target and the mid bottom was at about half health when I died. I was at level 36 across the board which is probably too low for that sort of party. I also was really low on consumables and throwables by the point I died. I think my plan is going to be to grind exp to at least level 40 (and probably closer to 45), then exit and use the money I've built up to get more consumables and Fuma Shurikens. Then I'll give him another go.

Did you use the magic lamp to kill the back section? It's not classed as heavy, so Odin will kill it in one hit. Only the lamp version though - he won't use the instant death move if a summoner casts it because the other 3 targets are immune.

That's my plan for the next attempt. I had burned the lamp on Twintania already and wanted to see how far I could go in a single run. Overall I think I did quite well; I only died twice before the end. Once was to Aparnos (or whatever his name was, the Byblos clone) because I wasn't frontloading enough damage and once was because I accidentally ran into Omega.
