I hadn't been into Gamestop since before Xmas. Y'all may recall my story about the overly aggressive sales tactics in December.

Well, I went back into Gamestop for the first time in a long time. I found Rodea Sky Soldier.

I struck up a conversation with the guy behind the counter. Dude wasn't pushy at all about signing me up for copies of game informer or pre-ordering anything. He said Rodea sold so poorly they couldn't sell a single new copy, so they marked all the new copies as used.

Sure enough, I got a brand new copy of Rodea including the WiiU version, the Wii version, reversible cover, and manuals for both (not that the manuals are anything to write home about) for $13. There was no cellophane, but the disks were brand spanking new - not a single hair, scratch, or fingerprint.

I would recommend you pick this game up now. The has collectability written all over it.

Being the dirty little reseller I am I might have picked up a few duplicates from the last retro flash sale  . Castlevania Adventure was $3.77 each and Dragon Warrior Monster 2 was $6.79. As an added bonus a copy of Zelda Link's Awakening DX found it's way into one of my boxes :D . Aside from one discolored Castlevania and one DWM with minor label damage they all seem to be in tip top shape. All cartridges were legit with clean contacts opened them up to make sure.

The Retro flash sales online are definitely worth watching out for haven't had any significant fudge ups yet.

I wound up ordering a few GBA games on one of the sales. Some of them seemed to be fairly reasonable compared to elsewhere, even outside of the sales (I think those just pop up on the site though). Seems worth browsing through at least. I'm usually leery of buying used stuff from their site since you never really know what you'll get, but if I'm already assuming cart-only it's no big deal.

Speaking of...

I also ordered Trails of Cold Steel Lionheart Edition from their "clearance", since $30 for the PS3 version seemed cheap (it's a good bit more on Amazon).
Unfortunately, it wound up shipping from a store, and they sent me a stickered up copy in a broken case, and none of the extra stuff (exterior box, art book, etc). Not the first time I've ordered something "new" from their site and gotten that, but usually it's just the same as buying the gut copy in-store, not missing a bunch of stuff.

On receiving that, I drove over to one of the local stores, and showed it to the manager. He called up the closest store that had a copy, confirmed that it had all the stuff with it, and had it transferred. So, I was able to exchange it a couple days later.

They pop up on their site from time to time. The thing that makes the deals even better is the CAG16 promo code stacks with the sales giving an additional 16% off.

Definitely don't go for disc based games unless your okay with getting a loose copy at their price though because 90+% of the time that's what you will end up.

Not a bad idea if they're so cheap you can make a little profit on ebay. I guess it could be worth the effort if you could pull maybe $10 or near that after fees.

Really testing/listing/cleaning is so minimal that even if you only make $2-3 per game you can make a decent profit as long as you don't need it immediately since selling a stack of the same game can take a little while.
