Sadly it was honest but more so because there are enough dudley douche wrongs out there who would whip out a camera phone and find a cop or send it off to the police with your description if not follow you for a license plate. It was a good call even if it was funny.

A few years ago the wife had to go to the ER, had our kid with her at the time and being 2 she had a fit being bored. Warned repeatedly to stop it nicely, taken outside for a time out, gets some busy body bitch to come outside and yell at her for attacking a little kid and taking pics (all that was being done was being picked up and sat back on a ledge for further defiance.) The woman after being told off leaves, goes inside, and turns it into security and until my wife let them check the kid out for abuse (which they thought was asinine too but state law and all that) she wasn't allowed to leave with my little girl.

Those laws are in place for a reason though, just like much of everything else it is the asshole that is out there doing wrong that you should blame.

A lady concerned for the well being of a child (even misguided) might save a child's life one day by being a "busy body bitch". I understand it's hard not to take personal, I've been a victim of some unfounded pointed fingers myself. However, I've seen the other side of it as well, and far too often people just don't give a shit or think "It's none of my business." leaving a child who is actually being abused abandoned. The lady probably jumped the gun, but maybe she has witnessed, or been a victim of some sort of abuse herself and simply takes a proactive approach.

It's a damn shame that society has come to this babysitting mentality by necessity. You can't really blame the people that are trying to make a difference though, as they usually witness horrible, sometimes unspeakable acts committed against children and quite rightly become sensitive to the issue. It's an inconvenience for good people that is necessitated by the acts of monsters.

All of this applies to those people who are willing to step in and offer help to, or question, anyone who appears they may have been battered or abused. If anything, people should do it more often...not less.

There's a girl in one of my classes who wears a dog collar. Not like a punk deal where they wear one of the ones with spikes, its just one of those brightly colored cheap ones with the plastic buckle.

What were we talking about?

I suppose I sound like a stick in the mud. As someone who has been the victim of abuse, I just don't really think it is all that cool to get pissed about people who give enough of a shit to try and help. Even if they are sometimes misguided in the attempt.

I have a close friend who was locked in a basement for over a year. Along with all the other kinds of abuse you can imagine in that situation. Her parents friends and neighbors knew of it and didn't do shit because they were "minding their own business". Meanwhile she is still all fucked up about it almost twenty years later.

Y'all will have to excuse me if I'm not all that humorous about it. I know it's all light and there aren't any ill intentions. I'm just saying, I wasn't trying to be a dick. CPS workers and "busy body bitches" get a bad rap sometimes.
