:? I'm thinking of dropping my equine focus for school. As much as I love horses, the horse people are a tough pill to swallow. Your average horse owner isn't an issue, but the higher up in the industry you get, the rougher it can be to deal with these people.

Yes. There's also a group in there I'm not sure how to describe, but I personally have even more trouble with. Essentially, they wouldn't be the people who own, say, American Pharaoh, but they worked on the ranch he is kept at once, and think they're big shit because of it. This whole group is full of egotistical people who think they know a lot more about horses than they actually do. The kind of person who might be really well knowledged in one area, but know nothing in other areas. Being that I'm in academia currently... I'm running into a lot of them.

:( And another nail in the coffin- pretty sure I did horrible on my practical for equine today. I'd like to blame the horse, but nobody will believe me.

:D But its the weekend, I'm set to meet someone who I may be working for, and I get to go gambling next weekend, so... yay!

Out of what they have, I'll probably flit between Blackjack and Hold 'Em.

:( Had my gum graft today. I guess the surgery itself wasn't too bad, since I couldn't feel much, but I was pretty stressed the whole time. Even though it's over though, I still have to eat only liquidy food for a few days, and very soft foods for a week or two.

Hopefully it won't be too bad, but I have a feeling that I'll be really fed up with soups after this is over

Funny story about gum grafts. While my wife and I were engaged, she had a gum graft done around her top canines. The graft caused her face to swell ever so slightly. However, she bruises very, very easily. The swelling eventually caused her to get some pretty magnificent black eyes.

This happened in the month of December. I went to visit her one weekend while she was recovering (we weren't living together at the time). I also needed to get some Christmas shopping done so I told her that I was going out to shop. She said, "Hang on, let me get my coat. I'll go with you."

I looked her square in those big black eyes and said, "No you aren't. You are staying right here." My wife, flabbergasted asked why? To which I replied, "I don't want anyone to think that I beat you." After a solid 5 minutes of laughter, she finally let me go on my own. She hasn't let me live it down since.

Well, at least you were honest

My friend used to work at a wildlife park. She worked very closely with the animals and as a result, ended up with a lot of bruises, especially after Vet Visit Day. Living in Florida, she wore a lot of shorts. She told me she used to get a lot of concerned people asking her if she was okay. She said one guy came up to her and asked her, in broken english (bless him), if her boyfriend hit her.

"No, it was just a flamingo. But thank you!"

And that was without the boyfriend accompanying her anywhere.
