The Rise of Leslie Vernon? Great movie. I actually asked you the same question in 2011!

haha, I can't keep track of who's seen what. But yes, it is an excellent movie.

Still hoping for a sequel.

This weekend is the perfect time for me to step up my Halloween decorations, horror movie watching, horror game playing, and all things spooky.

Movies:

Love at Fist Bite
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Young Frankenstein
Monster Squad
The Lost Boys
Teen Witch
Teen Wolf
Teen Wolf Too
The Worst Witch
A slew of mst3k's
Warlock
Critters
Ghostbusters
Dolls
The Addams Family
The Exorcist
Poltergeist

I may add more, but a movie a day (two or three on the weekends) is doable.

We put up decorations the first weekend of October (or technically, the last weekend of Sept this year). It's crazy to me to think that you'd just be putting them up now. I mean what a pain, you're going to be taking them down in 2 weeks.

Yeah, and my local Wal-Mart is decorated for Christmas already. Doesn't mean I will follow suit.

Two weeks is definitely enough time for me to enjoy the decorations and then put them away after the holiday. I won't be placing my dummy out until the 31st. For me at least, decorations lose their flair when they're up for an entire month.

I think the Wal-Mart thing is going the wrong direction. Two weeks, sure, I can understand that. But October, November, and December each have a major holiday associated with it in the United States. So putting up decorations for that month seems ok to me. Going beyond that...well, that's a little strange. I wouldn't put up Halloween decorations in July(and I have seen them for sale that early before). But most of us start talking about Halloween on October 1, we link November with Thanksgiving, and December is associated with whichever religious holiday we tend to focus on. So leaving stuff up for that month makes sense.

Halloween maybe my favorite holiday, but a month of it is too much. It's more like a St. Patrick's Day party...you decorate, throw a party, and be done with it. Having skulls and fake spider webs all over the place for a full month seems silly to me.

Christmas is different, as I have a tree to decorate, a train to put under the tree, gifts to buy, food to make...a lot goes on in a short period of time.

if you think a month is too long and keeping the decorations up for a month is silly, then I'd suggest that it's actually not your favorite holiday.

It may not be your thing, but some of us revel in horror all year round, and October provides us an excuse to get it out of our systems!
