Re: noiseredux vs. Sega

I don't think weapons got much stronger than stuff like the Varista in v1. There is no Lavis Cannon, Heavenly Punisher, Sealed J-Sword, or any of those 11-12 star rarity weapons.

Granted, I am now not sure if those are in v2 either.

I still say, if you are going to play the game, and aren't on a DC kick like Noise, get the DC version. Episode 2 is fantastic, and I actually prefer it to ep1, and it seems to have the most missions, weapons, and mags. Then there is also the Plus version, which has a few more missions and weapons, and access to one new area. Not to mention 4 player co-op. Now if only there was a way to get the GC version online via the Wii's online system. Seems like it shouldn't be that tough, but I would have no idea how to go about it.

Man, now I want to get down to the nitty-gritty of PSO and find out just what changed between each version.

Sorry, I edited my post before with findings. Here's what I came up with:
Anyway, here's a rundown of what I have with flashing orange letters: Red Saber, Red Dagger, Imperial Pick, Red Handgun, CHU CHU, Weapons Bronze Badge, Weapons Silver Badge, Twin Blaze, Samba Maracas, Sealed J-Sword, Monkey King Bar, Meteor Cudgel, Ancient Saber, Lavis Blade, Chu Chu Fever, and Guard Wave.

I also have two solid-red-lettered weapons: I\ Needle and Masamune, but I have very strong suspicions that those two are hacked weapons.
Lavis Cannon is a normal yellow-lettered weapon in v2. Not sure about Heavenly Punisher.

Oh wow, so it IS in v2! I wonder if its easier to get, or harder.

So, you say the Lavis Cannon is a normal yellow item, and not a flashing orange item? I would then be really confused, unless the yellow items are more rare? The Lavis Cannon is pretty damn hard to find, at least in the GC version. Its actually the item I am currently after, I've been leveling a Redria for that one item, and I have to get him to 80 to get it.

Lavis Cannon is the sword that shoots out waves, right? If so, then it's relatively weak compared to say the Lavis Blades that I use. P-Arms daggers are also yellow-lettered, and more powerful, I believe. I don't know if they retooled some of the weapons in episode 2 or not, though. I've never played anything outside the DC releases.

Damn, now I am really confused. If you don't mind me picking around even more, do you remember:

What difficulty you were on
What Zone you were in (Or better yet, what enemy dropped it)
Your Section ID

When you got the Lavis Cannon?

 I don't mind, but it would've been over 10 years ago that I got it. So if I remembered, I'd certainly tell you. I believe (don't hold me to this) that I carried the Lavis Cannon over from v1, though.

So... NGPC reviews would or would not fit comfortably with the Sega stuff?

Discuss.

Dreamcast has connectivity with the NGPC iirc. So there's your link.
