Rev DP here from Digg. Always liked the site and decided to register for the Game of the Month Club. I also noticed a lot of people from Columbus here, so maybe I can find someone to relieve me of the Tron Arcade game collecting dust in my garage.

RPGs, FPSs, Strategy games and Sandbox titles are my thing. I've got the basics, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, PS1, PS2, N64, DS and 360. Recently been playing DS & 360, but always have love for the retros. Look for Blazing Nuts on XBL. I can occasionally be found playing COD4, TF2 and every once in a blue moon Halo 3.

another long-time reader of the site, but registered for the retro group. pretty much a die-hard nintendo fan, most obsessive over fire emblem. PM me if you're in the boston area and want to chat or meet up. hopefully since ths is a retro game group i'm not older than everyone else ;)

Welcome aboard, UniCrono Trigger -- you should post the machine in the Buy Sell Trade section -- I know we have some arcade collectors.

geozeldadude, nice to have you aboard as well! While I probably won't be able to make it out there this year, I do hope to visit Boston in the near future. It's been near the top of my list :)

I am a psych major trying to get into grad school right now. Favorite gaming genres are shmups, RPG, and fighting games. I prefer old school games to new ones with all the shiny graphics. Old games focus more on gameplay and story and not so much on the graphics. Funny because I am kind of a graphic whore and want the best picture possible for my 16-bit and 32-bit systems. Anyway, nice to meet you all and glad to be a part of something that I enjoy so much, old school gaming.

BTW, sorry for posting like 20+ times before posting here. Didn't notice this until now. :P

Hello!

I have been hanging around for a while and wanted to join the game club, so I thought I would introduce myself.

I am an avid comic book reader, reviewer, and have my own webcomic at: http://www.spacebooger.com. I am also an avid video game player: I have all the sega's except the master system, nes, snes, n64, x-box, PS1 & @, GBASP... and emulate others.
I look forward to being part of the racketboy community.

Wow -- everybody is really joining in on the club :)
I guess that's what I was hoping, but it's still a pleasant surprise.

Hey all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself here. I'm 19 and still very much into gaming; I prefer the classics for SNES, Sega, and PSX - but I also love the PS2 and some newer games out now. I play mostly RPGs, fighters, platformers and action/adventure types; but I also enjoy a few gems that don't fit into any of those genres (turn-based strategy, some puzzle games, co-op beat 'em ups, etc.) I also play Garou: Mark of the Wolves a LOT and I'm pretty good at it. So if anyone wants to set up some matches on Kaillera, I'd be more than willing to comply.

I'm also a huge music fanatic and listen to huge assortment of different genres. Here's my last.fm:

http://www.last.fm/user/Lode_Star/

I've been making music for about a year, so here's my music page (the songs on here are pretty old, but I'm trying to get some new material made)

Other than that, just thought I'd start posting here. The community seems nice and very open-minded; I haven't seen any flame wars yet. Until now, I've only been posting here to get advice on technical problems I've been experiencing, but now I'll probably become a regular in my free time. :D

I've purchased a few items from this site as well, so big ups to Racket Boy.

And, I'm going to shamelessly plug my thread here:

http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 0672#40672

If anyone can help me with this, I'd appreciate it. :)

EDIT:

One more thing. The max file size for avatars is ridiculous. 6kb??? I couldn't upload an 80x80 15kb PNG file, so I downgraded it to GIF and got it to 6.27...still over the limit. Can you increase the maximum file size, RB?

Im in my early 20s and a Nintendo enthusiast for about 20 years now. I even share a birthday with Nintendos North American debut (one year off but the same day anyway). I live in North Western Canada where its very difficult to find anyone with similar gaming interests other than my brother. I've got most of the basics: NES,SNES,Genesis,Sega CD, Virtual Boy, N64, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, Gameboy, DS and Wii. Im currently looking to expand my NES, SNES and N64 libraries (in that order). The only brand new games i'll be getting these days are as gifts from loved one because im dedicating my leisure money to purchasing older games and improving my game room.

I joined because it seems like a good place to get advice on collecting, restoring and modifying older games. All of which are things that interest me.......So hi.

I'm totally on-board for the retro-games club - have been fan of the site for a while now:)

Current systems - Saturn (modded), DC, Wii, PS3, DS, PSP.
1st system - Atari ST

I'm loving that the Wii VC covers so many retro consoles, it's soo much more fun playing these on the TV, sat in my sofa with a decent controller than doing the PC emulation thing...

Currently spending my gaming time on MARS MATRIX!

Much respect to our hosts.
