Re: Switch Discussion Thread
Dragon's Trap is on my list. Mario Odyssey... not so much. Never been much of a 3D Mario fan.

If anyone gets the 8bitdo USB receiver, it has to go in the BOTTOM usb port on the cradle. It will not work on the top one. you know, for all those times you want to use your Wiimote, PS3 controller, or Xbone controller, on the Switch.
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
Woooo Pocket Fighter arrives better late than never! I wonder if they'll now put the NGPC version out too they intended to release with it?
I may just have to feed my cc to the Switch it appears.

Am I like the only person at all really digging into Ys 8 on the Switch? The game is pretty impressive.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
Octopath looks fantastic, and I'm probably be picking it up if Shining Resonance wasn't coming out at the same time. Don't get me wrong, Octopath looks super unique, but just seeing a Shining game on consoles in 2018 makes my inner Sega nerd kid happy, so it takes precedent. "Shining" or "Phantasy" in titles is going to do that. So my JRPG priority would be Shining > Octopath > Ys... I guess it's 'unfortunate' to say that there's just too many solid looking JRPG's coming out right now haha. In fairness (@Tanooki), I've always been just sort of a casual Ys fan. I've really only spent solid time on the first and then um the remake of the third. I think that's it.
EDIT: Also, I just saw that NIS is bringing RPG Maker MV to Switch next year.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
Well that made RPG maker interesting to me.
The leads of Octopath have stated in a recent interview that they view FFVI as the best game of all time, and they wanted to make the a game in that is the spiritual successor in a different universe (aka if FF7 was in 2d).

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I really want Octopath Traveler but I can't justify it right now. I've got too many PS4 games to get through - one of them being Ys VIII. I also have Sonic Mania Plus preordered for the Switch which comes out a few days after Octopath Traveler. XC2: Torna the Golden Country is not too far away and I got Let's Go Eevee soon after that. Then Kingdom Hearts III in January. Damn this JRPG addiction! Uggh, at least I stayed strong and didn't buy anything from the Steam Summer Sale this year.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I'd be way more interested in that new Pokemon if it had traditional turn based battles. But the E3 trailer made it look like some kind of waggly mobile game.
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
The motion controls are optional. Otherwise it would be a beast to play in portable mode. From what I understand, only catching wild pokemon is Pokemon Go-ish. There are still gym battles and trainer battles to contend with.
