Can't wait for the last episode of KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS show really has felt kind of rushed the last few episodes but the final battle appears like it's going to be pretty bad ass. Really hope there is room for a second season since things are starting to get interesting.

Can anyone tell me whats up with these 1-5 minute long clip show style anime seems like there are 3-4 every season now. Is this something that is popular for mobile games to do or are they pretty much fan service promos that play during commercial breaks?

I enjoyed the end of Kabaneri, but I felt it was a smidge anti-climactic. Still a very solid show though. Definitely something to check out if you're a zombie/action fan.

The third season of Sailor Moon Crystal also ended this week, also a bit anticlimactically. I blame that, though, on the source material, as the anime pretty much followed the manga script on that one. They left off the season with a cliffhanger hinting at the fourth season, so I expect that to come around eventually. This season gets a definite grade bump up compared to the first two seasons. Still not as good as it should have been, but it could have been much worse and I'm thankful for the improvements.

On a side note, this is just a friendly reminder to anyone who likes Full Metal Alchemist, that Funnimation has lost the liscense and if you want the Blurays, you'd best try to get them now before the rights go back to Aniplex: Decimators of Wallets.

This season I think they were these and few others. I usually ignore these anime since 4 minutes a week isn't worth it and most of them are super focused on fan service. There seem to be more and more of them popping up though.
Onigiri
Bishoujo Yuugi Unit Crane Game Girls

There are also some longer 8-10 minute shows like Monster Strike.

Yeah it definitely had a much lighter ending then I expected and I was kind of disappointed. I am happy that there is room for some more seasons though and was happy that I didn't leave the episode feeling super depressed like I expected to  .
Was really expecting hive form Mumei to fight Ikoma and I didn't figure both of them would make it out of the episode. Although the second I saw Biba get some white blood I kind of figured things were going to go a little differently.

In one of my rare moments of poking at a recent anime (though its a few years old now) that isn't just some retro remake I watched Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet on Netflix.

Good stuff. I really didn't expect it to be what it was as I was just looking for some mech action and got a really likable, character-driven "fish out of water" story instead. The twist was pretty good as well if not entirely unpredictable.

The action was rare and unremarkable but I didn't care because that wasn't really what the show was about. The climax of the final battle was both excellent and sad however.

My only complaint was the female lead, Amy. She was such a bland and useless character. Even one of her side character friends did more for the plot than she did.

On a similar note in the "Not Really Anime but kinda" department I watched Netflix's original Voltron series and that was a lot of fun. Had a very modern Disney sense of humor to it.

This season is going to be pretty interesting need to go back and rewatch some stuff.

D.Grayman is finally getting a continuation called D.Grayman Hallow which picks up where the previous story line ended with that crappy weird cliffhanger, and there is a new Berserk anime.

Also excited to see that season 2 of Arslan Senki, and Shokugeki no Souma just started airing.

I saw this. The ending left me wanting to watch more Gargantua, which is always the sign of a good show.

You're right about the female lead. She definitely suffers from "anime girl syndrome". I wonder if there's a single female writer in the production staff, because the robot got more character development than the girl did.

Only Yesterday has finally been released. I am a happy Ghibli fan.

I look forward to watching it some time this weekend. Haven't seen it since TCM aired it years ago.

Chamber was an awesome bro-bot though, to be fair.

On the more intense side of mecha anime I just watched Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky.

It's definitely not something for someone uninitiated with Universal Century Gundam stuff but for me it was one of the best Gundam related animations I've seen in years.

Now to find something new for my current mecha-thon.
