Right now I'm trying to beat Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and I'm at the final boss... But I think I'm either way under leveled, or doing something wrong ;-;
I've already tried twice... First time I was beaten pretty quickly (but I wasn't sure what to expect so no surprise there), and the 2nd time I spent over half an hour trying to beat her, but I only beat 1/3 of her first form ;-; I just reset at that point because I had used all my good spells and she was healing all the damage I did to her...
I probably have to grind a bunch or something... Which sucks because I hate grinding and there isn't really a guide on what's the best way to grind bleck I might just not be equipping the right stuff, but I have no clue...

I haven't really had to worry about that until this point DX

Do you have any kind of magic black or is there any way to stop the boss from self healing? These are typical ways to beat bosses who self heal over and over.

Hmm... Well there is a song (the spells in this game) to absorb enemy attacks... Not sure of how well it would work (costs a lot of mana and has very little uses) but I can try that. Then at least I wouldn't have to worry about healing for a bit... And I don't think there is anything to prevent her from self healing. I think it's just considered the ability to heal every turn (and not a spell).

Crusader of Centy.
Not a "true" action-RPG (no experience points) but whatever. This is probably the most appropriate thread to mention such a game.
This game is typically regarded as "the Genesis version of A Link to the Past."
It's okay. Controls are kinda loose. Honestly it's making me just wish I was playing LttP instead.

Welp nvm that... doesn't help in the slightest ;-; Thanks for the suggestion though.

I got it for $35 back in 2011 or so. Before the price really skyrocketed.
Don't worry. You're not missing out. It's more of a collector's item than a must-play game.

Bonez, have you played Legend of Oasis? Which of these two would you say wins the "Zelda clone" battle on Genesis?

I'm at the very end of FF1 on NES, just about to have a go at Chaos.
After finishing Dragon Warrior and now having almost conquered this monster, I'm ready for a nice, extended break from grinding marathons.
These antiquated titles are fun but they sure do seem like work sometimes.

You mean Beyond Oasis?

Legend of Oasis is the sequel on the Saturn.
But yeah, Oasis is about 100 times better than Centy. It's a beautiful game that doesn't overstay its welcome.
And to be fair, neither game is truly derivative enough to be considered a Zelda clone. That title should be reserved for Neutopia and Golden Axe Warrior.
