When I get around to it it'll be the Turbo-CD version.
GOOD.

That's the definitive version. And the games are strung into one long game there too. Great experience.

Speaking of Izuna, that's the biggest problem with the original; it doesn't iterate on itself enough. Izuna 2 is much better in that regard, and you also get multiple playable characters that can bet switched in between dungeons (as well as a wider variety of weapons), so that helps keep things fresh.

Yeah the first game just gets to be one dimensional. I'll still keep Izuna around and putter with it from time to time, but I'm just not in love with it. Though I definitely appreciate some of its design choices.

Some of that Izuna artwork is ridiculous. Anyone else remember the "milk" picture?

I kept reading about Izuna and Shino having some sort of lesbian relationship, but I never came across anything like that in the game (sadly).

Level 80 with my main character and near the end on my second playthrough of Dragon Quest Heroes. I will need one more new game plus playthrough in order to unlock 100 bonus skill points for every character in order to max them out, then I will finally dig into the end game content which I've heard includes harder versions of all of the game's bosses (who drop the strongest weapons), as well as another playable character that can be unlocked if you are able to defeat him. There's also the already included DLC from the Japanese version to play through and mopping up various other things (quests, crafting accessories, etc.)

This may be the only musou game I platinum.
